Review: With Slick Don riding roughshod, this is an unashamed party joint jacked with all the London swagger you could possibly ask for. Slick comes across like Newham Generals on just a weeny dose of helium. Spitting with a smidgeon of sing, IKK's 4/4 garage riff is the perfect bed for Don's bravado (so perfect it comes with an instrumental). Elsewhere we find tech-minded tropical ("Crossover") and stripped back bleep bashment ("HS1").

Review: All aboard the remix express! Four40 follow up last month's b-boy two-stepper from IKK and Slick Don with four sparkling reversions. Pedro 123's re-imagination strips the original back into a plinky plonky trap attack that comes in both vocal and instrumental forms while KSH add much more of a bashy grime riddim. Then there's the obligatory VIP for added rewind pleasure. Get to the "Crux" of the matter... It's a vibes ting.

Review: One of Hyperdub's many forward-thinking talents, Ikonika follows on from the exceptional Contact, Want, Love, Have album with four dancefloor-orientated versions of the album's highlights. Review: Continuing to offer forth various artist release of an ever-diversifying nature, the latest instalment of the Hoya:Hoya series features three interesting takes on bright and musical electronica. Ikonika throws down some solid funky beats and douses them in yearning, full fat lead synths with a certain depth not normally found in such sound sources. Om Unit meanwhile opts for a multi-faceted excursion in rhythm, with plenty of arpeggios playing around with the ever-shifting beat arrangements. Monky's 2-step groove is more direct, while his own melodics take on an 8-bit charm that is all his own.

Review: Sao Paulo's Ilicris slams down four new funky house heaters on his latest EP, Take Control, led by the insanely tight and itchy title track and backed by the mainroom bass and fluttering percussion of "Better Man", the deep groove of "Dark Knight" and the immense "For Funk". Review: On a slow and steady rise with a distinctive take on UK Funky, Ill Blu haven't given the people much to chew on with their career so far, but one can only assume the duo have been hunkering down honing their craft as this trumps their last outing on Numbers. "Clapper" is a brawny cut with a nagging mid-range squawk and tasty rolling brushes of snares on a milatiristic tip. Juke's man of the moment Traxman does a hefty chop up of the original with a stomping rave era cut that wouldn't sound out of place on The Prodigy's Experience.

Review: With their releases on Numbers and Hyperdub, Ill Blu have shown themselves to be one of UKF's most interesting voices, and this EP for Kerri Chandler's Madtech sees them refine their style ever further. "Omar" combines the wonky metallic synth stabs of their previous efforts with a thumping 4/4 techno kick, all bathed in dub, while "2nd Nature" sees them expand their remit to include house music, delivering some piano driven, bass infused beats, with only the slightest hint of the UKF heritage. "Tick Tock" however sees them go back to business as usual, with its manic square waves rippling across a tense backdrop.

Review: Ill Blu's debut for Numbers kicks off with the much talked about eponymous track of the EP. "Meltdown" acts as the perfect entree, with a reverberating vocal sample and a similar synth/bassline sound to Redlight's tune "Stupid". It makes for a compelling listen with plenty of dancefloor driven panache and synth flourishes colouring it along the way. "Overdose", up next, is more comparable to the aforementioned "Bellion" than any of the rest, building from a sparse intro with echoing cooing and tripping, crispy beats, into a more bleepy, high pitched main tune, masterfully counteracted by throbbing low end b-line action and jungle style chirrups. "Chelt" brings the EP to a close, with a more tech-ed up approach, accelerating into the drop with a clamour of jingling SFX, rumbling atmospherics and quirky, bubbling synths. Dreamy rippling waves drive things forward, underpinned by a thunderous b-line, making this another late night party starter and one to add to the record box if UK funky is your thing.

Review: Don't let the novelty, yet awesome name fool you - Ill Cosby has got some serious tropical skills and flexes them with all his might on the excellent "Lo Oyen". A bubbly, multi-percussion worker which uses some huge claps and polyrhythmic sequencing to craft something that'll prove fiery on any dancefloor. Emvee adds a Latin/Reggaeton feel with some grimey strings, while Palms Out's Dubbel Dutch gets busy on another Ill Cosby tune, "Kalakuta". which features the maddest sax lines since Guido's massive "Sex Sax".

Review: Despite the rather suggestive nature of this EP's name, Illegitimate Children's debut for Dubporn is actually a rather tasteful affair, with an organic palette of sounds that recalls Four Tet and Gold Panda at times and classy beats in the FlyLo mould. This is best encapsulated in the title track while combines off-kilter rhythms and candy-coated synths and pitched vocal trickery. However, he uses the EP as a whole to take this starting point and explore numerous musical directions; "Corneria Bound" takes things in more downtempo direction, offering its cough syrup soaked soundscape more room to breathe. while "Bubblegoose" comes as another curveball, constructing an intricate melody out of a bell sample which combines an Aphex Twin style ambience with R&B production. The EP finished with a pair of hip-hop productions - but despite the casual genre hopping, Illegitimate Children always maintains an impressive hold on his sound.

Review: Dropping on DJ Die's pleasingly-varied Gutterfunk label, these two collaborations contain some absolute ghetto-bass gold. Interface and Minus rise up to nu-juke tempos and deliver a storming, Om Unit/Machinedrum-esque mix of pitched-up samples and D&B-inspired drum work. Die and Mensah however work a bleeped-out beauty on "Firing Line", with some unorthodox kick patterns and intense atmospheres providing a gritty yet hyped delight. Early support from Addison Groove, Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything, Toddla T and Sub Focus among others suggests this double-sided release is going to be a very big deal indeed.
