The mysterious 0311 turns in this beguiling five track EP for Concrete Cut. As a member of the Warsaw based Underground Perception collective, this solo outing skirts the outer limits of future dubstep, seamlessly blending the influences. Opening track "System" is a sign of things to come, a skittering garage beat offset with smooth pads and swirling atmospherics. "Warsaw Dream" offers up a female vocal sample and chord stabs while "It's Not True" strips things right back to the core. "White Shadows" ventures further into garage territory while EP closer "Last Nite" has a quirky downtempo feel.

When 123MRK's Noname EP dropped in 2011 creating waves all around the dubstep and bass music scene. Moulding the sound of his generation into a style all his own, the Frenchman suddenly found himself held aloft as an innovator as well as simply a producer of sounds. This remixed release of his seminal EP was a lofty undertaking and the finished item features remixes from some of the future dubstep scene's brightest young stars alongside long-time innovators. From Liar's metalic, lo-fi flavours to Troy Gunner's understated clicks and swirls; ViLLAGE's heart-pounding house remodelling to Heblank's old-school twist, even the likes of Pixelord and ReSketch play their garage-influenced hands to create an all-new modern-day canvas of what exactly bass music is right at this moment. It can never be truly defined, but this is a pretty good encyclopedia.

Review:
This appendix to 2562's recent album Fever takes "Aquatic Family Affair", arguably the biggest track from the LP, and delivers an extended recut. The track itself is a sublime garage-techno hybrid of the highest order, as a deep, bass pulse throbs between a skittering beat, and huge organ chords flow across the surface. There's nothing massively different from the album version, but it does provide a DJ friendly version with slightly extended drums. The B-Side is occupied by an epic Shed remix of "Wasteland", taking the playful tone of the original and turning it into a typical warehouse rattler complete with alien sound effects buried deep within the reverb. Taking the already skeletal original and somehow adding a much greater sense of scale, Shed uses the percussive components as a backbone, straightening out the rhythm with a huge kick drum, and giving the whole thing a much moodier vibe by dropping some huge chords at just the right moment.

Review:
An engaging and interesting four-track EP here from 3 Hrs on the Black Butter label, which kicks off with the title track "Absolutely" - a shimmering little number with glistering synths, rumbling bass, ribbiting beats and chopped up, repeated vocal snippet. "Clap Work", up next, continues in a similar vein, with faded, clapping beats, booming sub bass and distanced, echoing vocal element, with repeating insistence to "clap!" Penultimate cut "Fear To" is an eerie, ominous slice of darkness, whilst "Nite Time" slows the pace down, with a stripped back soundscape as the EP draws to a close.

Prague's Meanbucket have snapped up some raw new talent in the shape of Dutch producer 618. This here is his debut release and with one listen it makes it clear why he's created a buzz for himself. "What You Do" is a brutal booty bass assault with serious juke overtones, while "Amsterdammed" applies heavy bass to the kind of techno heard in Berlin in the good old days. Remix wise, the title track become minimal hip-house by Boeboe, thumping house by Embryo Planet, freq bending electro by Seymour Bits and incredible dark electro-house by Veit B.

Two mesmerising future-garage bangers, with "Style" leading off with some lively drums and epic sweeps of synth strings, coupled with some subtle D&B-style bass hits in the background. "Take My Thoughts" almost sounds like a part two, continuing where "Style" left off with some dreamy pads keeping your head firmly in the clouds. Fresh, funky and startlingly ethereal stuff.

Four To The Floor have been blazing a trail of future-garage destruction over the last few years, building up a solid regular roster in the process. Here's a killer round up of what their acts are currently up to. In the case of 8th-Ski, quite a bit: 60s kitsch lounge finely cut with some feisty breaks on "Jazzy Style", melancholic UKF on "Makes Me Wonder" and euphoric retro house on "On Me". Solution is currently all about slammin' speed garage, while Aleks Zen ends things with the celebratory sax-house vibes of "Let You Know".

Review:
Zinc and A-Trak's transatlantic collabo connection picks up where "Stingray" left us with this firing piece of no-nonsense euphoric grit. Natalie Storm's vocals hog most of the spotlight. A dancehall diva with crisp delivery and just a smidgeon of raunchy undertone, she drives the floor into oblivion as the levels peak beneath. Remix-wise it's satisfaction central as we're smashed to pieces by Shadow Child (woozy breakbeats with a heavy dose of sub), Dismantle (boshing, full-paced electro stomp) and JWLS (D&B/half-step madness).

A1 Bassline, aka Croydon's Christian Sibthorpe, has moved on considerably from his ghetto rave beginnings, getting deeper and darker in the process. This latest EP sees him really pursue a retro sound, especially on "Slur" where we are taken to a David Morales Red Zone party in early 90s New York. Up next, "Slingback" is altogether darker: melding tech house with a hint of vintage Detroit techno for an intense and hypnotic trip.

Raw jams galore on this sex track compilation from Paradisiaca Recordings. DJ Hoodcore opens proceedings with the stripped back bounce of "Phyre" (which also gets remixed by Mike G to impressive effect), before DJ's Eskilate's "Ice" drops with bleepy, 8-bit textures and melodies plundered right out of an Atari. Also be sure to check "If You Sex C" by DJ Doomdark's Revenge - part trance anthem, part screwed R&B, part garage roller, all fire - and the even better "AAMG Anthem" by DJ AK-4luv, DJ Tee Whizz and DJ Reek Rawz.

Review:
Bristol's Actraiser drops a big, brash and bouncy set of deep funky riddims on this latest EP for Car Crash Set. Lead tune "Kong Riddim" is a dark, cavernous gem with an infectious set of UKF drums anchoring floating pads and subtle, echoed synth leads. "Adventure Island" on the other hand is heavier on the congas and the stacked snares, while "Bubblun" brings a joyous 2-step rhythm out to play and nestles it around spacey pads and female vocals shots. Quality modern funky to be ignored at your peril.

Bristol's DJ Die has gone one better than signing Addison Groove to his Gutterfunk imprint, he's only gone and collaborated with him on both tracks here as well! The footwork-influenced side project of Headhunter, Addison Groove assumes charge of "Keyhole" - a stripped back excursion into sultry voodoo beats. Meanwhile on "Hydropump", DJ Die takes the lead steering this ship into breaky hip-house waters in the process.
