Review:
The debut release from this new project from UK producer Lee Botham, Auditory Assault Recordings concentrates on the murkier side of funky-tech on this fifteen-track release. "Get 'Em Up" makes for the perfect opener, with its motivating spoken-word samples and gurgling acid bassline, while the DJ Sneak-esque hats and Chicago swing of "Keep On" make for an immediate favourite. "Fornication" will definitely hit the spot for UK bass fans, while "Fly Away Home" has a nicely playful, almost J-pop feel to it.

Review:
In the mid-noughties this Italian outfit raised the bar for electro producers everywhere with their clever blend of fidget-house and baile funk beats. This album is basically a 'Best Of..., and features a whopping 47 tracks both as a DJ mix and as separate files. No stone is left unturned, and all their pivotal work so far is here: from the early attention grabbing releases ("We Are All Prostitutes", "Atomic Baile Boy" and their Chemical Brothers remix) to a host of new exclusives (including "Bad Men, "Don't Just Stand There" and 'Sbomberz") via some pretty high profile hook ups with the likes of Kelis, Major Lazer and Roisin Murphy.

Review:
Having headed up the My Style mix and compilation before, Dub Police label boss hands the reigns over to D1, who provides us with a run down of what's hot in dubstep in 2011. Picking out some runaway classics of the year - cuts such as Redlight's enormous "Source 16" with its thunderous, elastic band bassline and booty shaking appeal, Caspa's ode to the underground "Fulham 2 Waterloo" and the bleepy, synth soaring "Turn Me On" from Subscape, which draws the album to a close - alongside some of his own material, it's an on point selection. Listen to the continuous DJ mix for an all round experience.

Review:
Here we have a battle of the heavyweights as classic big beat/electro-house label Skint goes head to head with established garage imprint Ice Cream. Featured are two DJ mixes in which DJ Omar and Sonny Wharton mix up the back catalogue of each (including some exclusive versions), boasting names such as Fatboy Slim, X-Press 2, Tim Deluxe, Andy Jay and S-Tee and R.I.P. Productions.

Review:
An iconic and heavyweight garage label from the mid to late '90s, Ice Cream dropped a fair few classics in their heyday - as proved by this first volume of re-releases out this week. Songs don't get any mightier than Double 99's seminal bass-anthem "Rip Groove", which lead off this collection, while other forgotten greats like Stephen Emmanuel's choppy 2-step beauty "Hold On" and RIP Productions' huge house/garage hybrids "Work It" and "Love Is What We Need" simply put half of garage's new-jacks to shame.
