Review:
First debuted on a recent Sound Pellegrino podcast, Bambounou's "Alpha" has been hotly anticipated for a while now, and it's definitely been worth the wait. The French producer and Youngunz star loads some compressed kicks and heavy-gliding synths into the mix on "Alpha", while "Dock Request" rides an ever-changing bass arpeggio and some brilliantly disjointed drum patterns. "Heroic Requests" brings out a heavily nocturnal, stripped-down Detroit sound into play and "Divided By Zero" rounds off the EP with a dubby, ghost-house rouser that's simply gripping and hugely addictive. This release comes replete with mixes of all four tunes from Teeth, Lunice, Darling Farah & Ikonika.

Review:
Another week, another top bass release from Dutch fellas Top Billin. This time, however, they've really pulled out the stops, finding possibly Japan's best (only?) bass-fiend, Keisuke Ito aka Broken Haze. Mixing up everything from bass and house to electro and dubstep, this EP is really on fire. Highlights include "Battles Of Empires" which sees ravey pitch-bent synths married to stomping reggaeton, the video game-meets-moombahton fest that is "Lightning Flash" and the bouncy tropical synth workout, "Air Castles".

Review:
A splinter project from hardcore American D&B outfit Evol Intent, Bro Safari brings a whole new intensity to Moombahton with this killer EP on T&A. "Avalon" for example piles on the bass around that distinctive reggaeton drum pattern, a trick repeated on the pounding "The Clap" which keeps the elements refreshingly simple - chopped, detuned vocals, thick 808 kicks and short LFO squeaks all structured into a sure fire floor-worker. "Cold Turkey" takes a rare trip into the higher bpms, while mixes from Jay Fay and Codes maintain the levels of tweaked-out lunacy that runs through this heavy release.

Review:
B Ju returns on the excellent Squelch & Clap with his most intricately structured collection of tracks to date. The smooth lounge tones of "Bird Call" recall the experimental R&B of James Blake, as neon synth lines snake around rattling beats, while the smoother tones and pitched vocals of "Cry Wolf" and the rolling garage styles of "Taurus" recall Jacques Greene's finely sculpted productions. Remixes come from 123mrk, whose version of "Kry Wolf" adds new layers to the original's shuffling groove, reducing the vocals to mere slices, and Tete De Tigre, who turns in a heavily stripped back version of "Taurus".

Review:
Longstanding Columbian groovers Bomba Estereo have something of a timeless quality to their rich, organic grooves. As much as they roll with a comforting Zion Train pro-retro wriggle, there's all manner of contemporary parallels - not least the XX/Delphic style delivery of "El Alma Y El Cuerpo". Now on their third album, their distinctive blend of deep psychedelic production and rustic, wholesome Latin folk will warm your heart in minutes. But don't get too sun-kissed and sexy... there's some savage club grooves deep in the mix. Just wait till "Pure Love" hits. Wow.

An excellent debut from a new crew comprising Hyperdub/Lightworks funky house producer Ossie, as well as Paul Black and Orial. Bringing some lo-fi vocal soul to UKF, the trio announce themselves with three stark but huge tracks - the shimmering and jacking title-tune, the mesmerising Detroit waves of "Nobody Knows" and the warped house of "Messing Around" - complete with background studio chatter for extra trippyness. Ossie's own mix of "Back Of My Car" is also included, and makes for an intense astral hardcore makeover that rounds off this enormously impressive introduction.

Review:
Bwana is a young Canadian currently residing in Leeds. It's evident from the two bass-influenced tracks contained here that this producer has clearly absorbed the sound of the UK into his system; "Baby Let Me Finish" is a venture in to deep tropical territory with building percussive beats built around a multi-pitched R&B vocal sample. "Nami Swan" goes deeper again: interweaving clap-heavy beats with a dreamy organ and swirling pads. Black Orange Juice add a whole new vocal for their electro-soul tinged remix of the title track, while The 14th provides a killer retro-house mix recalling the good old days of Nightcrawlers.

Review:
Emerging bass monkey Bhok has pressed the 'Dreamy' button on his beat machine for "Glacier". A wispy, floaty composition of house and garage coated in sparkling arpeggios and a well manipulated selection of vocal snippets, this is instant spine-tingle material that's not dissimilar to the output by Phaeleh. For "All For You" he's kept the 'Dreamy' function in full effect while repeatedly hammering on the 'Anthemic' and 'Lush' buttons. If only producing was that easy!

Review:
The vogue for a druggy take on 90s swing is still in full flow and this joint right here is a top-notch example. "Love History" is a slow bump n grinder with watery synths, stoned beats and delicious late 80s tropical riffs - all perfumed with wafts of gentle 'oohs' and 'ahs'. Lovely. Remix-wise: Laney adds some 8-Bit bleeps, Sker gets high and nods off on the keys of his fender rhodes, Mr Beep adds perkier tropical beats and Manul goes harder with some post-Dubstep-isms, while Lojt and Elias Smith opt for slick and deep/retro house respectively.
