Review: L2S set 2013 off to a winning start by adding Bob Citrus to their impressive back catalogue, and the man couldn't have done a better job. The title track fuses ridiculously catchy garage beats with even more seductive synth stabs and coats it all with a sweet set of vocals. "Garage 92", as the title suggests, takes us way back to the early 90s, bringing through some fine beat work and an even tastier bass line for you to nod your head back and forth to.

Intent on making feel good music that doesn't bring people down, he's just dropped this here album, which boasts 11 songs that do just that. "Wanna Roll" is super accomplished hip-pop with arpeggiated trancey synth melodies. "Live Before I Die" is a sincere ode to peace on the streets, "Suffer" is a slick slice of synth-soul and "Running Out Of Time" is a tailor-made lighters-in-the-air anthem.

Review: Here we have a split single featuring artists on the Loose Squares roster getting remixed to within an inch of their lives. First up is Ghettotech don Calculon, whose recent collaboration with Austin Speed, "Back The Fuck Up", is turned into a killer slow juke meets jungle synth-fest by the producers themselves. Review: The Nightshifters imprint run by ex break core DJ come modern day media impresario Jason Forrest (He produces, dabbles in iPhone Apps and runs online TV stations in his spare time) has been bubbling under nicely for the past couple of years dropping releases primed for the floor. This release, however, might just see them accelerate on their upward spiral towards widespread recognition. There's been a sense of growing anticipation surrounding this EP from Club Cheval icon Canblaster and he does not disappoint, straddling the gap between 130 and 180bpm with dizzying brilliance. Heavyweight remix action from the likes of Teki & Para One, Jubilee and Bambounou add some pedigree but the original tracks alone are startling enough to merit purchase. Big moves from the Berlin imprint!

Review: Following excellent funky-bass releases on labels such as Car Crash Set, Spain's Cardopusher is back, with a full-length album due imminently. This EP primes things up nicely for the album - with the tropical-tech of "Coppertoned Punch" shining thanks to some Latin claps mixed with eerie chords and future-garage beat patterns. "Damelo" is another low-slung heater with ghostly leads dominating the mix! Mixes by BADXMAN, Emmerson and Ghosts On Tape also draw out a new side of Cardo's unique funk - the latter especially standing out thanks to its stripped-down and rapid jacking techno sequences. Roll on the album.

Review: A label on a roll following great releases from CRST, 214, Mistamen and Kingthing Car Crash Set continue with these two new tropical heaters from Cardopusher. "Tarradella Nights" keeps things bubbly thanks to some distant and trippy organ sounds as well as a Balearic-meets-bruk out beat that's so good that it's just left to simmer and build rather than be disrupted with gimmicky fills or drops. "All Bellaca Parties" starts with a set of high-pitched 606 drum hits, a la Ramadanman, and quickly winds in some excellent urgent synths - fantastic stuff.

Review: A haven for futuristic garage and bass fans, the Frijsfo Beats label drop their third collection with Cardopusher leading off with the joyously twitchy tropical beats of "Then What" - a crafty mix of popping, finger-snap percussion and filthy, swamped-up bass. Desto turns Kuoyah's "Convex Gravity" into a half-step acid jam a la Girl Unit, while Submerse's "Bubblin" is a brilliantly hazy mix of warped R&B vocals and lush 6am chords. Most frantic of all though is Geiom's stunning "Chip Voices", which almost recalls breakcore kings like Venetian Snares and Kid 606 for its sheer choppiness, were it not for the fact that it still has an inherent groove locked in underneath the madcap sampling.

Review: Dub Police lynchpin Caspa makes an early bid for "certified carnival anthem" with the soca leaning ravestep of "Fulham 2 Waterloo". One massive rave horn gets twisted around a concrete heavy half step rhythm that's poised like a sonic boom to the guts. It's essentially an exercise in the art of builds and drops - the track is shameless in its intentions to make you dance and as such is probably Caspa's best production in a long time. Be sure to check the Roska and Emalkay remixes too! Up next, "Bang Bang" is probably titled so because of the explosive nature of the drum programming - expect evil strains of mid range wobble to cut you in half.

Review: With four original track and two remixes, this package from CC entitled "Up Wind" has plenty to get your teeth into. Kicking off with "Got A Lexus", the brash bravado of the title is offset by delightfully sparse, stripped back sounds with a gentle groove, hissing hi hats and sultry melodies. Next up, "K Share" is a flurry of deftly placed beats with a 4/4 rhythm and billowing vocal winding in and out; "Gryphon Perc" oozes with cool with its choppy pattern and crackling white noise, whilst "Woolie" is another gentle little mover and shaker and "Boys II Dro" blends minimal sounds with sleek, polished rhythms. Also check the Rekchampa and Helix remixes. Sexy stuff.

Review: French outfit CDBL arrive on Orlinzoo for this big release. "Feel So Good" demonstrates a uniquely French knack for melody, combining Fred Falke style melodies with a London influenced rhythmic snap and UKF style vocal samples, whilst Look Like's remix adds some cut up swing into the mix. "Gangsta's Anthem" meanwhile takes a darker, ghetto house approach with rapid, clipped, footwork style percussion; remixes come from Rodeo, whose heavily sidechained synths combine with some heavy dubstep style bass, and Tommy Kid, whose hard-hitting 8-bit ghettotech remix manages to inject a bit of melody while keeping things sufficiently moody.

Review: New label Delayed Audio launches with a split EP featuring a variety of sultry deep house nuggets from a trio of talents. First up is the ever-impressive Chamboche, whose "Anodyne" offers a pleasingly loose fusion of minor key chords, swinging, bossa-infused drums and heavy bassline pressure. Session 9 delivers a murky, tech-tinged late night roller in the shape of the moody "Ambient Cutter", while Ejeca turns the same track into a sweet UKG stepper with blooming deep house melodies. The EP is completed by "Superstition", a particularly deep, electronic foray into basement house territory from Last Mood.

Review: "Sensitivity" is already a hit thanks to spins on Rinse FM this summer and a place on Ben UFO's standout Rinse:16 mix (ensuring its undoubted crossover success). It's also one of Champion's deadliest productions to date coming on his own imprint, Formula. With a hollowed out bassline, rich in melody, and its incisive UKF rhythm, the real hook comes in the form of Ruby Lee Ryder's vocals, which put the efforts of most US R&B stars to shame. It's accompanied by "Tun Up Di Bass", a much more grime influenced production with stuttering drums and razor sharp bassline. Rounding things off is the acapella from "Sensitivity" for those DJs who want to get adventurous with their mixing. In an ideal world this single would be sitting at the head of the top 40 - essential stuff.

Review: French label B.YRSELF Division like to spoil its listeners rotten; you rarely get less than about six tracks per release. "...So Below" is the second release by the seriously shady Changez and it actually forms the second half of a debut album (the first half being last year's "As Above..."). With another seven quality ventures into a variety of styles - highlights being the tragic and weary RnB/trap of "Gone", the moody skip beats and chipmunk vocals of "Utopz" and the deep retro house of "Every Way"- it all adds up to an impressive long player.

Review: Charlux soothe our souls with some sumptuous atmospheric beats here in a couple of compelling cuts on So Much Future. Getting things started is the gorgeous "East Dock" with its hushed melodies, sweeping instrumental flourishes and softly spoken vocal oohs and aahs, this is super laid back loveliness with a dynamic twist; a building synth adds a euphoric edge as the track builds but this is offset by billowing instrumentals and tripping beats. The title track "The Rest Of Us" is similarly stripped back, with whirring bass and gently chiming melodies, punctuated by delicate beats and quirky SFX in the background.
