French producer Dandaak impresses hugely on this double-tracker from 2019 Recordings, with the fresh ghetto-accent of "Night Breath" providing a bleary-eyed bass killer that's nicely backed by the more kaleidoscopic rave-jazz of "Certified Dine Piece" - a must-hear for fans of anything from Rustie to Surkin.

This latest missive from fast-rising starlet and 877 Records chief Dom 877 has already been picking up heat on promo, with Todd Edwards, Skream and Brackles amongst the most enthusiastic fans. Their excitement is probably justified, because "Do It Right" is rather tasty - a kind of deep garage/mystical deep house blend with enough rush-inducing builds and breakdowns to delight young punters and old heads alike. The more UKG-inclined Klic remix (yep, he of Medlar fame) is, if anything, even better. For those who still want more, there's also a tasty deep UK funky cut in the shape of "Mansion".

Another hard-hitting release from the Bass Machine label, this time coming from Perth's DYP, whose "Ricochet" combines junglist rhythms with some satisfying bass squelch to create an undeniably raucous fusion of sounds. Remixes come from Arrows Of Time, who deliver a dark breakbeat version complete with melodic breakdowns that hark back to '89, and J.Jean, who straightens the track out with a swung house beat and reworks the bassline into something altogether more delicate, creating something that is more UK funky than jungle.

Review:
This veteran Russian DJ has been enjoying a very successful period of late - releasing two versions of his break-from-the-norm 10th studio album, Don't Be Scared and another album by his new band The Electric. "I'm Feelin U" is culled from the former and is a retro electro soul jam with big doomy synths, 8-bit bleeps and samples of police sirens as we as the expert vocals of Greg Blackman. Of the remixes provided, it's the dark acid-hop of Mind Elixir's mix that gets the goosebumps going. Vadim has also included the bizarre soul-meets-gangsta vibes of "This Could Be".

Review:
The ambient intro is always a dicey manoeuvre for a club track, placing a lot of pressure on the drop to match up to the anticipation. For "Decay", the restrained dubstep roll that kicks in still packs enough weight to lock your head in without a moments doubt. It's a minimal stomper of a track with a resounding bassline that fills in the space perfectly, proclaiming its intention to slot into more considered sets. "Gone Soon" opts for a more haunting space with its drumfunk beat and layers of spooky tones, but the pick of the bunch for our money is the title track.

This collaboration between Marco Del Horno and DJ Swerve ticks all the UK funky boxes. Wobbly, bass-heavy riddim? Check! Touchy-feely breakdown? Check! Essential MC vocal to whip the party into a frenzy? Check and check! In addition to all of these things, there's also a solid instrumental dub (handy if your own MC of choice wants to spit some bars) and a string of solid remixes. Skeptiks provide an aggressive dubstep take, whilst Kutz employs some fantastically organic (maybe even live) drums on his energetic revision. The standout mix comes from Woz, who drops a sonic assault of military drums and bowel-bothering bass.

Mexico's rising DJ Jocan Deka has dabbled in everything from techno to D&B via ambient and more as he's learnt his craft. Now in this new EP, he gets to fuse elements of all his influences to great effect. "Don't Loose" is deep and immaculately produced bass music that defies conventions by ending on a strange breakdown. "Saurel Dunkelheit" is a quirky electro-techno affair and "Insparacion Automatic" ploughs a kind of avant garde garage field to much success.

Review:
Dropped on DVA's XLR8R mix from the end of last year, Dark Sky's "High Rise" finally gets a release on Blunted Robots and it may well be their best release to date. Tightly crafted minimal beats and glacial pads rule the roost on "High Rise", while a bassline constructed from percussion hits maintains the energy on this UKF future-classic. "Armour" is on the flip with a more fleshed-out and mean vibe running throughout - check out those hyped, rattlesnake snares for example - and the ocean deep chords on the breakdowns. Heavy stuff.

Still exceptionally young, yet already a legend in juke's evolution into footwork, DJ Earl returns with six new essential 140+bpm beats on the Triple Threat EP. Creating hazy polyrhythms akin to his contemporaries DJ Rashad and DJ Spinn, Earl sets off with the Eastern tremolo stutter of "Triple Threat" before launching into the furious 'work of "Dragged" and the insane soul-sampling "Make U Mine". Sub hits and Dilla-esque cuts dominate "Flexin" while "Without Love" mixes the smooth with the ruff perfectly.
