Review: On the Interplanetary EP, Littlefoot skilfully combines seemingly disparate elements of rave, garage, funky and house on this dope four tracker for the Well Rounded imprint. "Tuesday Club" sits somewhere between Roska and DJ Mujava, with some classic chord stabs thrown in for good measure. Equally impressive is DJ Dom's remix of "Sell My Soul", probably the EP's most euphoric moment, with more rave chords, this time supplemented by a clipped female vocal some delicious low frequencies. Up next you'll find two (relaitively) sedate james, namely the early morning shuffle of "Great Dark Spot" and oven warm Detroitisms of "Planet October".

Review: Funky moombahton klaxon! Lucano gets his hands on a delightful heel-kicking Cuban sample and proceeds to get his freak on with a tight percussive drum pattern, rainbows of silly bleeps and even a few horns and whistles. In a word: lively. The remixes are all rather smart, too. Review: Copenhagen-based Frej Le Vin describes his sound as "deep and jacking", with US garage, hip-hop and G-funk influences. "The More I See You", his first single for Pole Position, demonstrates some of these stylistic inspirations, coming on like a sun-bright mix of deep house, nu-disco and soulful garage. With Ashibah's vocal to the fore, it's a pleasing listen. It's backed by a huge remix package featuring no less than six re-rubs. Of these, it's the deep garage shuffle of Marco Twellmann's two mixes that most impresses, though Frej's own 6am Sunday Mix, an exercise in twinkling two-step gorgeousness, is also lovely.

Review: Formerly of gonzoid ravers Guns and Bombs, Johnny Love is back (away from his Deathface alias) on T & A with this excellent EP of tropical electro blasters. Title tune "The Switch" will make fans of LOL Boys, Mele and Canblaster giddy with its heavily warped vocals and insistent kicks, while "Are You Ready" is a +130bpm riser that sounds like Afrobeat gone Dutch. On a more Latin tip, "Sonora" keeps a cha-cha sample buried in the mix until halfway through when it's dropped perfectly as the start of a never-ending build. Perfect stuff for tropical rave fans who like their tunes at a furious tempo.

Review: UK producer Latcha tells it like it is: he simply produces 'anything club music based: house, tech, garage, bass ...plus anything in between'. We couldn't have put it better ourselves, and this EP, his first for Slime, contains a smidgeon of all these flavours. "Viable" is a remarkable voodoo percussion odyssey complimented by what sounds like reversed panpipes. "Call It That" on the other hand, is deep house with a garage drum kit and Orbital-style echoey synth pad melodies. Inventive stuff!

Review: Trust the Brazilians to give tech-house a sexy makeover. This eighth (count 'em) compilation from Sao Paulo's Lo Kik Records is about as sensual and fun as tech-house gets. It's full to bursting with the sort of gently uplifting, tech-tinged grooves that offer a sunnier alternative to the 'by numbers' fare often served up by European labels.
