Review: Expect low slung, synth-laden party beats to erupt from this three-track release by Notion. The "Digits EP" gets things started with a burst of bleepy beats in aptly entitled "Digits", which is all hazy computerized sounds and simple progressions before it drops and becomes an altogether different beast, with pumping beats and shimmying rhythms. "Soundbwoy Killa", up next, pairs an iconic vocal snippet with grinding mid range, clapping beats and a fun, funky vibe. "Watch Here" is another dancefloor-driven piece with grouchy beats, reverberating vocal and compelling melody.

Review: The latest release from Marco Del Horno's Bullet Train comes courtesy of London duo N55, aka producer Luke Oldham and Marco Giuliani (Last Japan). "My High" is a knockout double hitter comprising a warbly 'you are my high' vocal sample and tongue twisting rap from Rtkal. "Eclipse" is utterly different, being blissed out digital Balearica with hip-hop beats, "Lego" is quirky RnB and finally "Who Knew" is so well polished, it could almost be US top ten material.

Review: After last year's 10" for Lone's Magic Wire, Neon Jung returns with another slab of bass-toting badness for the ballsier side of the dance. "Delirium Tremens" takes the principles of early breakbeat and matches it to some menacing bass stabs, starry-eyed synths and sublime soul hooks. It's nailed perfectly for a floor-smashing winner, and paves the way perfectly for Nathan Fake to freak everything out on the remix. The beat is a surprisingly focused garage swinger for experimentally minded Mr. Fake, but the synths more than make up for that as they swirl around in a maelstrom of detuned magnificence.

Review: London producers Ryan Ellis and Lewis Wright have garnered solid support for their previous EPs "Welcome To The Jungle" and "Street Knowledge" from the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Jamie Jones, and with new single "Love Box", they're owed a lot more love from fans of deep, affecting and jacking house. With a stripped down and slightly grimey sheen, and at an easy 120-ish bpm, the pair craft a classic house moment via some cut-up vocals and crafty reverb work. Highly recommended stuff.

Review: The house-garage hybrid sound shows no sign of abating, and on this excellent EP from Norrit, the former electro-house producer reinvents himself in that vein in some style. Opener "Only Me & U" opens with a FaltyDL style warped house organ, before giving way to seasick synths and the sound of water droplets which gives the whole thing a pleasing avant-garde quality. "Macuso" starts with deep piano chords wrapped around a brittle rhythm, with the expectations of a house track, before hyperactive candy coated samples bring in the second half which sees the track unexpectedly switch to a funkier rhythm. "Victoria" sees a loose, juke inspired rhythm rush across huge sidechained house chords, while "Do You Luh" melds a deep sub-bass and weird pitch-bent synths with a breathy chopped and screwed R&B vocal sample. Finally, Unknown to the Unknown provides a huge bass heavy rework of the title track, taking the weird sound effects of the original and using them to drive its machinegun rhythms.

Review: Any Seinfeld reference always raises a few smiles here at the Juno office, and this latest EP from Nightwave has already earned a special place in our hearts with its name and artwork. The music itself may not have anything to do with the sitcom, but the music is as good as it's ever been from the producer, showing her production skills and ideas to be coming on in leaps and bounds with every release. The title track combines fluttering melodies over booming bass and solid 808 kicks, whilst "Jeff The Dolphin" takes a rapid arpeggiated synth line, gloopy bass, delicate organ notes and woodblock percussion to create the perfect fusion of Detroit and London bass sounds. "Jazz312" meanwhile combines Rhodes and trumpet samples with drawn out vocals and a fast juke flex, while the EP closes with "Heart Bit", a slower machine-funk number with rough, glitchy textures that recall Drexciya. This is undoubtedly Nightwave's most consistent EP to date, and comes highly recommended.

Review: NYC-born but now based in Berlin, Naifian steps up to helm this fourth release from Czech label Meanbucket. With tropical UKF and garage very much an influence, the title tune wields a deft and slinky clap-led rhythm and some anthemic organ chords. Former Bmore party rocker DJ Donna Summer works out a powerful 4/4 mix that's loaded with abrasive, feedback-like sounds while DJ Tuco rearranges the distinctive organ riff into a ghetto house weapon.
