Review:
This new rap/dance act from London shouldn't find it too hard to grab fans with remixes as good as these. Out on the Champion label, they're set to make a splash this year, but it's the remixes that really stand out. Fans of Crookers and Fake Blood will love the Calverston mix, with a healthy similarity to Theo Keating's mighty "Mars", it's simply a huge tune. DJ Naughty's mix has also got the UK Funky fans covered, while Akira Kiteshi's version has got all the wonk-heads sorted out too!

Review:
Slick, sultry party rhythms reside in this excellent release from the aptly named Partyson on the Slime imprint. The title track "Seduction" builds from a breathy intro with gentle percussion into the multi-layered main part with its electro beats, swooning vocal, bleepy SFX and sturdy snares. Seductive by name, seductive by nature, this one will have you in one fell swoop. Also make sure you check out the equally as wonderful Hybu remix with its pitched up synth work, stabbing beats and more carefully enunciated lyrics.

David Kennedy returns with his first original productions since that Maurice Donovan white label a few months ago, and feverish followers of those cultural barometers Rinse FM and Boiler Room will recognise the material here; "Untitled" first surfaced on the Hessle Audio Boiler Room takeover in May last year. Released with little concession to prior fanfare - a simple tweet notifying a baying public (and internet) of its imminent release, this single-track release sees Pearson Sound continue to develop into a finely tuned, tautly rhythmic house sound that undoubtedly pays concession to his production heroes.

Review:
David Kennedy, aka Ramadanman/Pearson Sound - one of the most talked about electronic artists of recent times - steps up with his highly anticipated mix, marking the 56th instalment of the fabriclive series. Amongst the almost exorbitant 30 track selection are 10 of Kennedy's own, signposted by explorations into dubstep, post-dubstep, house, funky, techno, grime, juke and all the unmapped areas in between which blend so perfectly to colour the Pearson Sound. Despite the brevity of time allowed for each track, the overall effect is not hurried. Essential!

"Enough" is the latest release from Afro-house enthusiasts Pepesoup on their own Soup imprint. With its deep, velvet vibes, gentle steel drum lilt and yearning vocals it's clear they have a sparse but soulful anthem on their hands. The club mix gives the kick a good um, kicking and beefs up the bass too! Jacopo Mancini takes things in more upbeat direction, turning in a sublime slice of pure Ibiza house.

Jungle veteran Persian has been enjoying a renaissance of sorts lately, what with his new imprint Existence Is Resistance re-issuing lost classics and newies too. This EP's a mixed bag of styles, "Chinease Spare Ribs" features a lively electro dub bassline, a stomping breakbeat and some pretty amusing movie samples. Conversely, "Get Down", is a chirpy disco house excursion featuring the soul infused vocals of Nicola Duncan. Things wrap up though with a more typical sound for Persian, that being sparse jungle beats and low throbbing bass over a nice, lovely dub riddim taking us right back to a summer, somewhere in the mid 90s.

Review:
Persian's "Feel Da Vibe" was both a highlight of Four Tet's superlative entry into the FabricLive canon, and one of its rarer tracks. Hebden himself claims it was only included after a Discogs seller agreed to send him a vinyl rip of the original white label, having had no luck in sourcing the record himself. Upon release, such was the repeated and widespread clamour for "Feel Da Vibe" to get a proper release, Persian has now emerged with a new label, Existence is Resistance which re-released Feel Da Vibe on vinyl. Now it gets a digital release with a new track, "Murderous Style", a breakbeat jungle companion to the 2-step garage of the title track, complete with bassline squelch, keys and vocals which take you right back to '92. Recommended!

Review:
Persian has been dropping Jungle bombs since the early 90s via his Existence Is Resistance imprint. Here he revisits his '95 monster, "Dangerous" in three different styles (the housey original is also included). First up is his own 're-fix', which retains those luscious Metalheadz-era Jungle pads with a bouncier, contemporary beat. DJ Texta works his magic on his dubstep mix, boasting some mighty big bass sounds and dubby effects. Finally Nick Dunton's mix is a deep and sprawling synth epic, and possibly the standout tune of the whole release.

Review:
Portuguese duo Photonz' latest track "1551", is described by Unknown To The Unknown as "Anti Illuminati Egyptian Trance House". It's somewhat apt as a description, as the track's tumbling tropical rhythms are joined by the kind of hypnotic melodic arrangement that gets right under your skin alongside some piano chords that make the whole thing sound like Chicago house as invented by Giorgio Moroder. As ever with UTTU, high calibre remixes are on the table also; Capracara turns in a surprisingly UK funky-inspired revision, Walter Ego turns it into a bass-heavy broken garage banger, and HALP smashes it into tiny pieces and rearranges it into a weird hybrid of IDM, footstep and dubstep. Essential!

Rather like the blob in the eponymous 1950s b-movie, the Slime keeps oozing! With each new release seeping into further into every corner of dance music's cities and towns (ok, ok, they're simply getting more popular, right?) Physik's latest is a doomy two-track belter: "Younger Days" certainly doesn't evokes memories of a happier youth with its haunting atmospherics and 2 step beats. "Torn Apart" is similar although trippier, with slo-mo junglist rhythms and mournful piano and sax motifs.

Review:
Superbly funky stuff from UK duo Pirate Soundsystem, who have previously rejigged the likes of Drop The Lime, Wiley and Bonde Do Role as well as dropping key releases like the Trip II London EP. Lead tune "Bashy Bashy" was previously featured on DJ Hero 2, and its bassline-meets-garage vibe is given a new lease of life here thanks to a fresh vocal from dancehall queen Lady Chann on the rechristened "Run Run". A carnival-esque anthem in the making, this will find favour with fans of Douster, Sinden and Diplo, as will "Jericho", a defiantly funky banger replete with whistle-samples, soca snares and a huge dollop of electro womp.
