Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it Billy Zane in a tight purple leotard? (maybe Google that one) Nope, it's actually a bass-obsessed guy from Poland called Bartosz. This is the latest in his series of mysterious numerically titled EPs and it boasts a distinctly playful vibe. "Personality" sees vintage funk samples and almost gospel vocals woven around a lazy 4/4 groove, "Body Fantastic" sees Daft Punk-style keyboard melodies married to trap beats, but it's the blistering electro-houser "La Defense", that's our pick of this impressive bunch.

After the slamming Shake It Off EP, up and coming bass producer Pusherman samples possibly one of the most lol-some moments the internet has ever produced on this new EP. "Donuts" features large chunks of Wiley's bonkers-even-by-his-standard rant against Dizzee Rascal in response to "Pussyole", captured via YouTube and layered over a tasty tropical/bass beat. Elsewhere, "The People" is a classy mix of stuttering 808 toms and 2-step snares, while remixes from Diamond Bass and Naive Machine impress too. In a word: "Donut".

Inner City Dance is the recently launched label from legendary DJ's; Marcus Visionary and Lush, with the aim of taking in all their influences over the last decade of house through to jungle and rave and moving into the "future bass" era. Project 88 follows on from his 'Dirty Acid EP' with two new tracks, both of which packed full of that warehouse acidy goodness once again. Our pick of the two is 'Take You' which has the deeper house vibe that is sounding fresh out in club world right now. A label to watch for next year!!

Review:
For this fifth release on his increasingly impressive Fourth Wave label, Tom Kerridge has snaffled some tracks from Presk, a producer who has previously released on Doc Deneeka's Ten Thousand Yen imprint. It seems like a wise move, because "Hesitate", in particular, is excellent. Based around a rolling, midtempo 4/4 garage rhythm, sweet melodies and cut-up old skool vocal stabs, it's the sort of thing that wouldn't sound out of place on Hotflush or Swamp81. Virtual flispide "Kook" is almost as impressive, conjuring a woozy concoction of steppin' beats, dreamy vocals (a la Alison Goldfrapp in her Orbital days, pitched down a notch or two) and tipsy, drunken melodies.

Review:
Something of a fresh face, Presk uses just the slightest of touches to make his brand of techno vibrant and singular. "Devour" sports a groove that falls jagged, keeping a tight swing but an insistently funky one all the same. "Love Again" meanwhile ups the ante with a more overtly 2-step beat and a punchy bassline, while matching the opener for melodic richness. "Slick Rick" slows things down marginally but piles on that Strictly Rhythm bump to great effect. Not afraid to makes things a little naughty, Presk has ably positioned himself as a bright young crusader with ear-nagging jams in his utility belt.

Review:
An emerging talent on London's garage scene, Prescribe Da Vibe drops two truly delightful new tunes on this new EP. "Such A Thing" is a warm, soulful mix of 70s Philly samples married to an itchy, old-skool jacking garage beat, while "Hear Me Out" is a Todd Edwards-esque beauty, complete with phased bass hits and scrambled vocal shots that comes together brilliantly to once again add some much-needed soul to UKG.

This batch of Beatvandals floor fillers initially surfaced 7 years ago on wax and has been long deleted on the format. It finally gets a digital release as a 3 track download which gathers the vocals and rhythms of the first lady of freaked out hip hop, a certain infamous rock band who just called it quits, the Bussa Bus and even a Toots tried & trusted classic all to be reworked with Beatvandals mash up treatment .It ultimately delivers a fun release that is basically a no brainer for a packed dancefloor.

Review:
The heart of Berlin's Man Recordings has always been lodged in the decidedly warmer climes of South America. This is none more evidenced than in this new remix package of (the similarly inclined) Montreal producer Poirier. Bert On Beats delivers some seriously low bottom-end on his wobble/bassed-out version, Peruvian-Czech dude Chong X does his eccentric moombahton thing, while Poirier also provides his own raw and bleepy electronic version. However, it's really all about the spectacular Astronomar remix that combines crackly and druggy weirdness for a ghetto house bomb!

Review:
Man Recordings return with a hard hitting EP from Montreal based producer Poirier. There's no messing about here, with four tracks that will really known how to shake up the dance, filled with intricate soca rhythms, heavy bass squelch and incendiary vocal contributions from Natalie Storm, MC Zulu and Face-T. Even more straight up dancefloor action than his Ninja Tune album - something we wouldn't have thought possible.
