Review: Champion's Formula fam come correct on this expertly curated 15-track exploration into the future realms of bottom heavy music. With exclusive cuts and versions firing from all the label's most consistent contributors, it covers all relative corners creatively; from Killjoy's gameshow grime "Turnt Ones VIP" to the chiselled, sinewy two-steps of Terror Danjah & Zed Bias's "Telepathy" via the sheet metal snares on Flava D's "Break", this collection goes further than representing a forward-thinking imprint but also documents exactly where bass music is heading in the future. Grand prix business.

I Need Your Love by Libra Uk on Saucy Cue Track
I Need Your Love (Tickles remix) - (5:31) 124 BPM
from $1.49
Review: You don't need to go to the big smoke to hear the latest cutting edge sounds. Don't believe us? Well look no further than the far-flung reaches of Devon for proof. Hailing from Totnes, Libra makes the kind of head-spinning, foot-stepping hybrid house that reconfigures garage into a whole new 21st century form of dance. "Need Your Love" recalls the trippier end of deep 90s vocal house, with cosmic digital sprays and loopy organ riffs. Remix-wise Archive UK takes us into boomy, doomy DnB-meets-dubstep territory, whilst Tickles gives us some moody 2-step with an extra helping of wobble for good measure.

N To The G's by Newham Generals on Dirtee Stank Cue Track
Frontline 2015 (feat Monkstar) - (3:03) 140 BPM
from $1.49
Review: We've been waiting for this a long, long time... "N To The Gs" is The Generals' most generous release since the "Five Star" EP two years ago. Five tracks deep, each one reminding us how hard Footsie and D Double E work. "Levels" will be recognisable to all house heads as they murk the Dickens out of a My Nu Leng vibe. "Bang Boi" updates the angular, aggy eski beat riddim with additional voices from Brakeman & Chronic while "Murking Yearly" nods its head to a classic west coast hip-hop mood. The most critical moment for many, though, will be an update of the 2003 classic "Frontline" wherein original member Monkstar returns for the first time in about a decade. Heritage hype.

Hustlin' by Daffy & Unkey on Durkle Disco Cue Track
Hustlin' (Arkane Soul remix) - (4:38) 140 BPM
from $1.49
Review: The fresh-faced Daffy & Unkey duo make their debut on Bristol's Durkle Disco for the label's twelfth outing with four raucous neo-dubstep cuts. The first, "Hustlin'" is a true head jerker, all high-speed and revved up to the max for teeth grinding; "Night Terrors" is swamped, squelching on the bottom-end and utterly nasty, while Unkey goes in alone with the broken, clap-heavy beast that is "Come To Bury You". There's also two further rewirings of "Hustlin", one by Glacci and the other by Arcane Soul.

Benny Blanco by Majora on Sounds Of Sumo Cue Track
Tech Leopard (Doctor Jeep remix) - (4:32) 128 BPM
from $1.49
Review: Relative newcomer Majora, is a producer who loves division - he divided his time between Bath and Bristol and his sound between 'house, grime and garage'. He doesn't seem to extend this philosophy to record labels though, as he seems to be happy residing with Sounds Of Sumo, who give us a new release package. The title track is thick, gloopy jazz-step meets wobble (turned into heavy 4x4 by Spoils and campy speed garage by Conducta) and "Tech Leopard" takes things even deeper for a deliciously tropical head-nodder (turned raucous carnival jam by Doctor Jeep). Boom!

Bleak - (5:28) 129 BPM
from $1.49
Review: One of the most exciting representers of UKG's darker, techier, more mischievous underbelly, Deadbeat UK steps up to Tumble once again with four straight up dancefloor-minded thug-outs. The title track switches from robust 4/4 to slinky two-step while a guttural bassline gurgles dirty limericks down your lugholes. "Shapeshifer" wriggles with more of a tubular, metallic snake-bass feel. "Pagans" is rough enough to melt bricks while "Bleak" jumps and bumps with a tightly punctuated hook that's as clipped, direct and unforgiving as a Boer war sergeant major.

WHO'S IN CHARGE - (5:24) 133 BPM
from $1.49
Review: Brighton's bass behemoth (in the making), Pavv, has already delivered some heavy vibes on labels such as This Is Bass and U Wot Blud? Now he's back with a sizzling four-tracker. The Big L EP goes hard and fast this time round, with the title being an anthemic, high-octane wobbler. "Always" takes the wobble down to its squelchiest depths, while "Where To Go" is thumpin' sci-fi 4x4 chaos. "Who's In Charge" then provides some lairy grime tropes devastating effect.

Ph Derkhead by Dr Cryptic on Chip Butty Cue Track
Dr Cryptic - "Ph Derkhead" - (5:00) 136 BPM
from $1.49
Review: To mark the tenth release from Sheffield's finest, Chip Butty, the label have paired up Little Mesters and Dr Cryptic and strictly instructed them to deliver some 'hard 4x4 bass music'. Well they've come out fighting, albeit with some sparks flying, with six tracks spread over the EP. LM highlights includes the horror-bass pounder "Buzzin" and the snarling 4x4 prowler "Work". Our faves of the good Doctor include the demented disco meltdown "C-Word" and the end-of-the-world fuzz-out "Ph Derkhead". Dark, in a good way.

Glacier - (5:28) 136 BPM Biggest-selling track on this release
from $1.49
Review: After last year's On My Mind release with Flava D, Royal T is back on Butterz with another sure shot of grimey pressure. As well as the instrumental beats, "Shotta" comes in two versions voiced by P Money and Footsie respectively with very different results. P Money brings a fierce and fiery delivery that pushes the already-hype track into dangerous levels of liveliness, while Footsie takes a more restrained approach with no less presence in his flow. Aside from those show-stealers, Royal T gets to stretch his legs on playful garage house interlude "Limbo" and the adventurous climes of "Glacier" with its melting pot of influences feeding into a truly diverse jam.

My Monster - (5:00) 64 BPM
from $1.49
Review: It takes all of about 2.5 seconds of listening to the Overpowered EP to clock that Nottingham label Certified Bangers live by their name! New signing Blacktip adheres to their 'no nonsense' mantra by delivering three molten bass bombs that are purely devised to cause maximum party damage. The title track is a raw growler, with snarling loops of wobble bass and irritable hi-hats and "12345" is given mean, vintage 4x4 makeover. Finally "My Monster" wraps things up with hip-hop influences, snippets of kitsch 50s B-movies samples and bass attack patterns.

Bounce/Remember by Conducta/Moony on Artifice Cue Track
Remember - (3:57) 138 BPM
from $1.49
Review: Having recently secured this future-garage clash of the titans, a two track exclusive collaboration between space-bass man Conducta and Brighton's lunar garage hero, Moony, Artifice are (probably) doing Michael Jackson-style moonwalks with joy. Both tracks presented here possess a fury and velocity not normally encountered in the world of garage but these guys are clearly intent on hammering out their message hard and fast. "Bounce" sees warm, soulful keys waver over undulating bass and accelerated 2-steppy rhythms. "Remember" is speedier again with hard snares leading the charge over shots of wobble and retro Robin S-style organ melodies. Sweet!

Review: U Wot Blud deliver the most exhilarating new bass sounds around, so when they select someone for their Rising Stars series you know that they're gonna be good. Here there are three producers with stars in their eyes - first up we get the sci-fi dubstep march of "Gully As Charged" by Terpsichore, before taking off with the accelerated 4x4 disco-step of 'How To Love" and the deeper, sparse rhythms of "Make My P's", both by 94 Bliss. Finally Danny Stephens steps up to the plate with the sleazy wobble-grinder "Evil Intentions". The future of bassline is looking rosy!

Review: The Azuli label requires no introduction because after all, they've only just been putting out some of the most played house music on the radio! Pumping away with that Inbizian framework, their compilations have always been the best ways to discover sub pockets of house music. This time it's another leviathan compilation focussing on "Bass House Anthems" and although that isn't a genre per se, we know exactly what they mean. From CJ Bolland to Reboot and FCL, there's everything you need in here to satisfy your banging house needs. Nothing too deep, nothing too abstract, just a whole load of body-shaking DANCE MUSIC.

Review: The breaks/garage anthem that refuses to quit almost 15 years after its initial release, Zinc's "138 Trek" has always remained relevant through every party paradigm that's followed. Here Bingo Bass revisit its many charms and versions for those who had no use for the recent vinyl outings. We all know how the original and VIP flex, but you may have missed the GQ version that comes with a little added grime finish or the Zed Bias mix which takes us on a sassier, steppier UKG vibe. Some tunes mature like classic Aston Martins. This is one of them.

Review: Mike Millrain is a bona fide UKG don. The man behind scene-shaping label Nice N Ripe and the owner of about a million aliases (from D Base to G.O.D), if anyone can curate a compendium of seminal UK garage and two-step cuts, it's him. Each one of these cuts (all of which have enjoyed Mike's musicianship, production or guidance) rumbles, shudders, shakes and sasses with authentic turn-of-the-century naughtiness. From jungle referencing breakbeats of Heavyweight Kru's "Bad Ass Bass" to the sensual skanks of Large Joints' "Thinkin'" via the R&B charms of Fruity Loops' "Share The Love" and the lush euphoric instrumentation of D Base's "Love Is Deeper", Mike has put together a 27 track history lesson that really can't be faulted.

Review: For their latest release, Project Allout promise 'pure fire' and 'real big UK garage and bass' from Notion. Well, they've not let us down with Notion stepping up to deliver three tracks guaranteed to smash dancefloors apart from here to Timbuktu. The title track features moody keyboard melodies, sharp 4x4 goodness and even a catchy pseudo rap. "Skankz" brings the bleeps, rave pads and big vocals for some wobbly garage and "How U Feel" mixes speed garage, house and urban vibes for a total sizzler.

Review: Label regular Killjoy teams up with Lenkemz for a new track and selection of remixes on the incorrigible Tumble Audio. The original mix of "Wesley Snipes" features the grimey vocal talent Slick Don on the mic, and you also get an instrumental to tool up into your DJ set. Majora steps up for a funky house remix compete with gargling bassline and a whole artillery of choppy percussion shots, whereas Spooky goes in with some killer half-step vibes reminiscent of something on Deep Medi or played by Mala or Coki, for that matter. Check it - essential doesn't even cover it.

Review: Tumble Audio has been providing us with seriously killer bass music for a few years now, and here they celebrate reaching their tenth release by recruiting Roadman Joel to curate a selection of the kind of seriously heavy tunes you might expect to hear at one of their many label nights. There's a whopping 18 tracks on here covering a wide spectrum of British urban dance music, including Majora's ridiculously amazing tribal UKF monster "T&C's", A Motion's ghetto 2-step hybrid "Back In Your Love" and Sentiment's wobble-heavy tropical jam, "Change You".

Review: In the mid-noughties this Italian outfit raised the bar for electro producers everywhere with their clever blend of fidget-house and baile funk beats. This album is basically a 'Best Of..., and features a whopping 47 tracks both as a DJ mix and as separate files. No stone is left unturned, and all their pivotal work so far is here: from the early attention grabbing releases ("We Are All Prostitutes", "Atomic Baile Boy" and their Chemical Brothers remix) to a host of new exclusives (including "Bad Men, "Don't Just Stand There" and 'Sbomberz") via some pretty high profile hook ups with the likes of Kelis, Major Lazer and Roisin Murphy.

Review: Here we have two new sizzling bass bangers from Bristol's future garage hero James Mannion. He doesn't pull any punches either, with "Come Down" featuring growling bass, ghetto beats and catchy synth riffs, and the sparse title track featuring harpsichord style melodies and a hip-house style rap. Remix-wise, PVC presents some skippy, wobbly 2-step, and Crown Duels delivering the jewel in the EPs crown - a schizophrenic, hybrid of scattered beats, stop/start rhythms, eccentric bass and, of course, that rap.

Review: It's been 19 years since R.I.P Productions launched Ice Cream Records, an imprint that did much to help popularize UKG during the speed garage days. Here, the veteran duo celebrates the label's enduring legacy with an unmixed collection of classics, exclusives and fresh new cuts. As you might expect, there's a clutch of more recent remixes of Ice Cream classics - see Scott Garcia's 2012 rework of "It's a London Thing" and a fresh edit of "Ripgroove" from Double 99 member DJ Omar - plus new R.I.P versions of 10 Below & Kele Le Roc's "My Love" and new school garage hero DJD's "Oh Baby". Throw in a sprinkling of forthcoming singles, and you've got a weighty trip into speed garage revivalism.

Review: Hailing from unlikely new bass capital Denver, Colorado, Ultra Bass have already made quite an impression internationally and to mark their 10th release they have unveiled another label compilation. Boasting '19 monster house and garage tracks straight from underground scenes across the globe', this collection really does perfectly capture the temperature of the scene right now. Highlights include the merciless big bass house steamroller "Feel It", the tropical doom-house tip of "2015 Crew 4 Real" and the bonkers hypo-step of "Magical".

Review: The big bad Wolfe trio make their debut with a handsome EP for the wonderful In:Flux Audio, and with this release the label mainatain the quality of garage and bassline tracks they're known for putting out. The straight-edged "Charlie" is a dubbed-out house stepper with an urban vocal touch, while "Back It Up" is a bass-weighted monster capabale of devouring dancefloors. A clap-centric "Mankey" is a techy hybrid of dub and bass for peak time dealings, and furthermore there's a pretty fine line of remixers too, as Spookz and JG both rework "Mankey" into a sludgier half-step beast.

Review: Northern darkstepper Kilner steps up to curate the second Four40 compendium, and he's looted the most exclusive of vaults to create a collection that's wholly unique to him. Tightly sprung in unreleased cuts and dubs, it's sharp-tailored document of where 130 bass music is at in the UK right now. From the lean groaning two-step shuffles of Hybrid Theory's "Tempering" via the warehouse-battering tubular bass and twisted vocal flexes of Adjected Deleted & Scullious's "Enemy" via the murderous grumblings and bounce-bass badness of Fogg & The Bumpy Fool, Kilner's so on point right now he sleeps on a bed of nails. Sharp.

Review: Brummie producer/MC extraordinaire Preditah does the honourable thing with Craig David's finest moment; chopping up his memorable chant from 2000 and slapping him down over a bulbous bass house jam. Rewind material... Literally. Remix-wise a whole array of vibes await; Cahill get their mid-'90s prog twinkles on, Dexcell let fly with a murky timeless D&B roller, Dr Meaker go for a late '90s Full Cycle D&B vibe, Majestic gets an awesome future-G shuffle on while adding a little spooky dynamic in all the right places, Vanilla Ace and Dharkfunkh throw down a very cool, understated garage strutter while Wilfred Giroux looks towards the mid-2000s Get Physical / Made To Play type of jack. Rewind selectors!

Review: Following the success of recent debut EP, Telling You, Holy Goof is back with more ammo courtesy of a new four tracker named after his own locale, "Midland Line". Already getting heat from Rinse FM, it's heavy on the bottom end and this perky 134 bpm stormer marries hard 4 x 4 vibes with throbbin' wobble, strings. Stabs and loopy vocals. Elsewhere, "Saving All My Love" delivers some snarling bass and laser zaps, while "Oi" continues the menacing atmosphere, furthermore Notion joins the party with synthy banger, "Buss".

Review: Hostage, the Edinburgh-based beat-maker, has appeared on countless labels over the last few years and his style is in a continuous state of flux, hopping from funky electro house to jittering bass music with utter ease and pure charisma. He appears herein courtesy of the UK's 877 crew and this time he's in a technoid mood with "Bladderwrack", a gnarly fusion of dubstep wobble bass and straight-ahead four-to-the-floor. For seconds you got "Touchdown", a relatively more bumping affair thanks to its swinging drums, and also "Red" which takes a slamming kick-snare and spills another thick layer of distorted bass all over it.

Review: Jump-starting his musical escapades with an EP for Four40, Skelecta makes his return and lands utterly upright on the UK's 877 with something of an anthem in the making. "Big Bad Wolf" is a collaborative effort with the one like Hybrid Theory and the duo have cooked up quite the jacker, where Dubfire-style percussion meets warped vocal shots and a militant groove. "Yuandai" is considerably more UK in nature thaks to its stepping rhythm, and "Shells", too, takes care of the grime vibes. Top stuff!

Review: Bristol bassman Bromley steps up to 877 with two originals that purr with understated, techy menace. Spacious and just the right amount of twisted, fans of Mak & Pasteman, Wen and My Nu Leng will instantly connect:. "Related" is a two-step hummer that ploughs through the low end soundcape with a well-oiled mechanical flow, while "Check" comes complete with pads so icy they could reverse global warming. Remix-wise Hostage adds a steppy, militant swing and additional bass gurgles while Sly-One adds a whole new line of synth textures before stripping the vibe right back to its bare rhythmic bones. This will relate with a lot of dancefloors and DJs right now.

Review: UK grime MC and budding actor, Skepta, is currently planning to drop highly anticipated LP, Konnichiwa, any day now, but in the meantime he's rustled up teaser track "Shutdown" in conjunction with producer Ragz Originale. The original is a menacing call to arms, but now Preditah has been called up to add some new vibes, which he does in style - turning the track into a jumped up speed garage/4x4 hybrid that'll have everyone dancing on tables.

Review: London's fearsome rave reveller, Spekktrum, doesn't beat around the bush discussing his sound: "I make bassy stuff," he says. Spekktrum doesn'tdilly dally when it comes to production either, and "Babylon Bass" is a straight to the point, wobble-heavy reggae-step jam. For those wanting a little spice, the VIP mix is gets the breaks out for a dubbed-out assault. Elsewhere Dr Cryptic turns the bass to 11 and injects a lethal dose of 4x4 flow. Meanwhile, Negativ delivers a housed-up rework and Spookz closes with a UKF sizzler.

Review: Birmingham's SPX is really causing a fuss with his unique and refreshing take on bassline music. Murder is his first release since Feelgood back in March. Once again we have one original and a selection of fine remixes. The original is the real highlight here - deep mid-tempo mechanical grooves spiced up with dubby goodness and peppered with some lush arrangements. Remix-wise DevelopMENT adds some seriously nasty bass growls and sparse breaks, Jamie George goes for a more sensual stoned-step angle and Skape end things on huge big room party house tip. Boom!

Review: Switzerland-based producer Gregory Dub - arguably better known under his Pressure Mode alias - doesn't mess around. The original material presented on this EP for A Friend In Need is a good case in point. While blessed with hazy, fluid chords and plenty of soulful touches, there's a bumpin' feel to the beats throughout, while vintage US garage style vocal cut-ups help push the action forward at a rate of knotts. This is particularly noticeable on "Rawstuff", though the same formula underpins the deeper and more expansive "Nightlife". Happily, the remix package is solid, too, with Blinds' acid-flecked, ultra-deep take on "Rawstuff" and the booming Riddim Jersey Keys mix of "Nightlife" impressing most.

Telling You EP by Holy Goof on Certified Bangers Cue Track
Need You - (6:01) 134 BPM
from $1.49
Review: Midland murker Holy Goof has already created some neat momentum as a DJ with appearances at the likes of Butterz and Jamz. Now he makes his EP debut with two defiantly gritty bassline house scud missiles. "Telling You" thunders with industrial strength 4/4 beats and a bitter bassline that worms with detuned grit. "Need You" flips the vibe with a little more organ action, more focus on the vocal while retaining the toxic darkness he's becoming known. Heavy.

Whopper (Wicked mix) - (5:56) 125 BPM

Review: Soul Revolution were rather impressed by Mark Berger's debut single, Give Me, so they quickly signed-up this EP. The Swiss producer's fast-developing trademark sound pays tribute to bass-heavy UK house, classic UK garage, Sound Factory-era New York house, and the tactile appeal of vintage basement jams. All of these influences can be heard on "Inside Girl", which benefits greatly from a killer bassline, relentless cymbals and some excellent vocal samples. Mike Millrain's remix is a breezier affair, more obviously influenced by classic UK and US garage. As for "Whopper (Wicked Mix)", it's a deliciously dark and booming "big room" jam built around a thunderous wobble bassline and big room stabs.

Review: Skepta steps up with one of this year's most unifying grime cuts so far. Laying down crystal commentary over a crisp-but-squidgy groove, Skepta lives up to the track's name as he shuts down certain behavioural aspects of peers and fans, certain misconceptions of grime and many other ironies he and the BBK crew battle on the regs. Massive... But then you already knew that, right?

Review: When Nasty FM's Tik & Borrow gave birth to In:Flux Audio, little did they know that they'd given birth to a monster. The At The Speed Of Life EP is sound the sound of urban Britain in the future. In other words, it sounds like how garage will sound for everybody else in 2025. There are three scorching tracks on here, with the title track leading the charge with its deep and hard grind, "Meth" sees a party-friendly MC rap layered on a deep speed garage joint and "Soon Come" wraps things up nicely with a more melancholic, yet bassy, jam.

Review: In three years the Get Twisted operation has put out as many compilations, and on this one DJ Q delivers some thumping pop-step in "Dreams". Furthermore there's the deep and dark bassline house of "Cut It Push It" by Riddim Commission and Taiki Nulight, while H Two O's "Need You More" is a sublime slice of haunted electro-house. And for some tropical acid and warped R&B vocals check out "Gossip" by Nick Tee.
