Review: For his debut on Phucked Recordings, 1Point5 has delivered a very impressively produced offering indeed. Intricate, 2-step infused beats jostle for supremacy with bouncy dubby bass notes and a slick vocal from Al Rolfe, before they conclude that basically they all win. Remix wise, Moxix opts for a synth heavy post dubstep reworking replete with crying baby sampling whilst Nu-Direction offers up a futuristic doomy D&B revision.

Review: This er, young kid (Tom Guerriero-Davies) from Nottingham, is tearing it up with this tune, getting plays on Rinse FM and more. Although he describes his sound as a variant of 2-step, it really doesn't do this tune justice. In fact it's a pretty hard record to categorise, other than it's a brilliant slice of haunting future tropical in which Della just rinses all the sounds, samples and riffs at his disposal to sound like, well, nothing else around. Remix-wise we also get quirky garage from Nomi and some seriously haunted house courtesy of AtsuBox.

Review: A Russian living in London, Lokiboi, has clearly absorbed the cities underground dance history and sound (we'd put money on him being a fan of those 'Back To 95' warehouse parties). Not to put too fine a point on it, this guy really loves 90s garage and house. This is evident here on what is his biggest release to date: the latter prevails in the deep and tribal title track and in the campy New York-iness of "Love Saves The Day". Elsewhere it's all about deep, often melancholic London-centric retro garage. Back to '13!

Review: The kind of EP you wouldn't want meet down a dark alley at night, this also marks Mokujin's first release for someone other than Blaq (maybe they were too scared?). Anyway, it's their loss as we get four tracks of menacing post-dubstep - "Confessions" features stunningly haunting synths welded to a UKF frame, "I Can't Take It" is the sound of distorted discord, aka serial killer garage, "Oh Baby" is 2-step with issues and "What The" gets all heavy on the wobble. Killer stuff.

Review: After successfully remixing some very popular dance tunes to widespread approving nods from the likes of Loadstar, Clean Bandit and Naughty Boy, the Bristol duo have returned to the studio to furnish the bass music community with a second EP released on cutting edge label Black Butter. Bringing together house, garage and bassline for that oh-so-now deep house feel with a characteristically twisted outlook, each track is a swarming mass of influences and irresistible experimentation. "Scatter" in particular has that perfect MNL combo of hip-swinging dancefloor compatibility and relentless hard-hitting beats and you've almost definitely already heard the badness of "Levels" on your travels. Review: There's a few acts out there with the same or similar name, but this Nativ shouldn't need to worry, he's most likely to be the one that's remembered. Coming out London's cult label Vex, "Bandulu" is a menacing slice of forward-thinking wobble where chiming tropical beats collide when snarling, rabid bass. Elsewhere "Afrocentricism" pushes the drum rolls further and the bass lower, while "Bounce" is all about the spacey synths. Remix-wise Notion and DJ Spookz deliver ghetto tropical and peak time chaos respectively.
