Review: Having let off some serious stinkers on Hybrid's Audio Addict earlier this year Agro returns to his own imprint with five more blunt-nosed scudders. Once again, it's an understated affair which hits best with its low-swung technique - more rolling than jumpy, more grumbling that shouty, it's the type of tunes you'd expect to hear Randall play at 3am. Highlights come in the form of every track but don't sleep on the elastic bass stretches and sultry vocal on "All The Time" (with Raz), the ludicrously flabby bass on the brilliantly titled "Big Food Mover" and the epic, not to mention sandpapery, collabo between Aggers, Greezey and Kumarachi "AZR". Score settled.

Review: Snake killing: a highly dangerous occupation practiced only by the likes of Chuck Norris, Bear Grylls, Andre The Giant (ask your dad) and stone cold vibe-firing junglists like DJ Limited... A man who's not missed a trick lately. Following releases on Serial Killaz and Biological Beats he returns to Heist's Co-Lab with a six-pack that contains some of his best tracks to date... "Kill The Snake", an absolute blinder of a riff track that mixes with everything and sticks in your head like pure gorilla glue. Other crucial cuts include the flabby wobbles of "Famous On Earth", the stripped back theatrics of, switches and guitar glitches of "Right On Time" and the classic off-beat shake down of "The Purpose". Tl,dr: Absolute murderation (of snakes and soundboys)

Review: Vital returns to Bournemouth bass HQ Unauthorised Audio with four supreme slicers. All tracks wholly focused on the bass riff, "Deadly Zone" cuts deep with rusty harmonic tones, "Heavyweight Sound" trims you down with a beautifully fat wobble on the bottom end, "Hot Of The Press" dices you to your bare bones with its blunt toxic bass while "Bruck It Up" carves you limb by limb with to the sound of a rubber ball bassline. Finally we have the stabber of the set: "Insane" where a freaky, ricochet bassline pings off the breaks and beneath a well-sculpted vocal sample. Cutty.

Review: Fire in the hole! Jaydan continues his prolific cavalcade of crucialness with four more savage jams as he makes his long-overdue debut on Maji's Sweet Tooth. Big riff thunder pieces tailored for deep mix head-twisting, across the set we're kicked in the guts by the sandpaper riff on "Pagan Times", pushed into a deep hole with the anarchic atonal grit of "Snitch", our arms are ripped off as we salute too hard to the early Propaganda style "Tear It Down" and we skank ourselves to death with the ace jungle lash out "Run Da Riddim". Shots fired? Shots hired more like.

Review: Talk about best man for the job. Charlie Break, while not Bristol by birth, represents the exciting sound and energy that still emanates from one of the UK's most exciting cities. Loose, rattling, rolling with a latent funk and jazziness - Break has consistently delivered the vibes Technimatic were celebrating with the original tune. Naturally he's done them proud with a switch in the lower end hook and a rugged set of drums. Precision reversion.

Review: Keep away from the panic button! It might feel like you've been surrounded by ghosts of rollers past, you might feel like you've been hypnotised by the sinister gods of jungle but it's only the Utrah brothers and they've packing some of their best work so far... Both "Riddims" and "LowDefign" are up there with Serum and Benny L on that pranged out new groan flex, "Pathogen" is more directly trippy and sinister with its molten bassline and punchy cymbal-slapping drums while "Far" sets fire to your house and stands on the street mooning at you when you run out for safety. Ultrah sound.

Review: Home is where the heat is: G13 rally up troops old and new for a straight up sesh of UK heaviness. Co-boss Rowney takes the lead with the savage "Still On It", setting the scene for the new breed to smash down. Bou, Leaf & Dutta go all jazzy and harmonic on "Waterfall", Niterider gets all low-swung and switchy with "Fire Emoji", Jammin brings the mystic pressure with "Marijuana", Salvage gets classic with the cymbal-crashing, bass-mashing grunter "Don't Stop" while newblood Tringy finishes on the spooked-out wobbler "Poltergeist". Stinking.

Review: Just as you thought it was safe to walk the streets, Konichi & Decimal Bass crash land into your grimy little universe once again... And nothing is safe. Their largest body of work since last year's album Forever, expect nothing less than six tracks of riot material; "The Dog Knows" is a barking mosh of a jam with electrified bass and a cracking sample, "Invasion" (with Vacuum) is so tightly sprung it should come with a health warning while "Cold Killer" sees them tagging up with mandem du jour Turno for an iced out shred flex. Elsewhere "Get It" wins gold in the 'weirdest bassline of the EP' award, "If I Told You I'd Have To Kill You" buzzes and snaps with a hornets nest bassline while "Maintain" kicks down your house with a roughhouse late 90s style bassline. K9 thumbs up.

Review: In all due respects, if you need background deets on Brockie and Ed Solo you need to go back to school. If you don't, then you know what level of trouble we're dealing with here as the two hugely influential titans of the genre revisit their Undiluted vaults for an incendiary collection of high grade bruisers dating back to the turn of the century. Still hitting with the same spiked out futurism as they did almost 20 years ago, tracks like the distorted riff blunderbuss "Cheltenham Bass" the slappier, break-riddled "Mind Overload" and the star-gazing riff of "Dutty" still pack major punches to this day. Not ones to just look back, they've also commissioned a load of on-point remixes from some of the sharpest acts in contemporary jump-up: Turno, Serum, Annix, T>I... Need we go on? The story continues.

Review: Toulouse representing! Young Monty steps out for his debut 1985 release... And it's a bit of an occasion; he's the first artist to have their own EP on the label beyond Perez and his and Eprom's Shades project. Naturally he's delivered; "Hold Me Back" is deliciously space age and soulful, "The Underground Fable" is all about the highly-sprung steps and stark minimal shivers, "Spongy Conversation" continues the stark vocal theme over a grimy riddim that's not too far away from Commix at their finest while "The Savage Chase" takes us right down the roller rabbit hole with moody pressure and deep fog horn bass sweeps. Killer.

Review: Welcome to "Rollers Club" where it's happy hour all day and night long. Bou will be your consummate host, and he's rolling deep in decorated company. For the sublime game of contrasts that is the opening tune NAMF helps him balance warm jazzy chords with wriggling grunty jump riff with insane and truly unique effect. Elsewhere fellow gutter-bass showman Telekom joins the party for some grizzly, brain rattling bass on "Violet", Bou goes solo for the brilliantly twitchy, sharp-shooting switch up "Poison" and the man like T>I strolls in casually late for the last, and indeed gulliest track. No antidote required.

Review: Train wrecking, hard bopping, barely breathing riff wizards Ego Trippin continue their rolling onslaught with four more addictive hook-works. "Drum Beatz" rattles and shakes some classic samples in a brand new way, "Lost Your Mind" brings back memories of Bingo circa 2004 while "Change The Beat" is a lolloping weird-out that groans so rudely it could make T>I blush. Fancy a VIP chaser? Take a glug of the subtly refreshed "Tracker". Trippin on sunshine..

Review: It's a good time to be an Artificial Intelligence fan. Hot on the heels of their "Reprisal" EP on Headz they return to their Integral mothership for four more understated slices of golden drum & bass. "Ask Yourself" teases with shades of cut up vocal soul over a heavily textured groove and loose percussive elements while "True Colours" goes all-out dreamy with a string hook and vocal to die for. Deeper into the EP we chow for the barbed banquet of futurist soul that is "Waiting For" followed by the soothing stepper palette of "Holding Out". Truth.

Review: Usually when man hits road with a VIP it goes harder, right? Not in the case of this fugly roller from a true king among junglists T>I. Here he's taken the heavily supported and highly distinctive bassline of last year's banger "The Gorgon" and pressurised it into a much more physical sub bass sensation to subtle heads-down effect. The same can be said for his take on Damage Report's "Snooper" as he switches out the in-you-face weirdness of the OG bassline and teases us with the texture over a much more dense sub twist. Basically the bigger the systems you play this on, the better they sound.

The title track teases with a sexy R&B message of bedtime freakery before dropping into a bassline so fat it needs medical assistance. What follows is a string of chaotic scenes with highlights including the pure agro-punk of "Man A Bad Man", the depth plunge bassline stretches of "Now Drop" and the blunt funk Q&A sass of "Supreme Being". A homage to one of Leicester's finest jump up operators or just a statement of status? He's bang on the money either way.

Review: After an extended hiatus, Detroit Swindle returns to action for the first time since the autumn of 2016. Predictably, they're in fine form throughout. We're particularly enjoying title track "Can't Hold It", a bumping and energy-packed deep house cut smothered in swinging drum fills and what sound like jazz-funk instrumental samples. The warm, summery action continues on "Just Not Norma", a superior chunk of life-affirming disco-house deepness whose beats are pleasingly jazzy and dexterous. Arguably best of all, though, is the more heavily electronic "Tamarindus Hollandicus", where new age melodies and fizzing electronics weave in and out of a restless synth bassline and Italo-disco style percussion. Willie Burns' remix, a fusion of scattergun-techno attitude, proto house drum delays and swirling synths, is also superb.

Review: Last spotted on Maji's Sweet Tooth screaming prophecies loud and clear, the unstoppable Nu Elementz returns with more concrete body-slammers. "Operation" blasts with such a venomous hook it could remove your spleen so quickly you won't even notice. Looking for a bassline that purrs rather than screeches? Look no further than the danger-humming "Trainwreck". Looking for a reason to invite the queen to tea? Stick on "Royalty" and watch her throw her crown (and of course shoes) out of the window. Finally we have "Curious". A strange stepper with a wormlike rusty bassline that creaks and groans on every chop-slapping snare, if this doesn't have you questioning mankind's existence you are officially soulless. Good luck with that mate.

Featuring some of the most exciting names to come through in the last few years, K Jah vamps up the force with a brutal homage to the old school, RMS lets us loose with a groaning ode to the mid 90s (with added 22nd century bass groans) and Too Greezey slaps us silly with a widescreen break and expert reverse wobble sitting obesely underneath. Other highlights include Konz' stripped back slinker "Breathe", Brockout's breezy cosmic roller "The Note" and the savage neuro finale that is Skaylz & The Junk-e's "Off The Grid"

Review: See di hit man ah come! This has to be the most definitive collection of one of the most rewound jungle bangers of all time, "Hit Man" has been sampled / remixed / bootlegged and refixed more than most tunes and there's a good reason... Cutty's cult vocals were sampled and processed to perfection by Cain in the first place. Iconic, whichever era it's been re-imagined, from Benny L's insane new flex or DJ Hype's classic amen-rattler, it always bangs. There's a remix for every occasion right here. Quintessential.

Review: The clue is in the title mate: Ruff Rollerz... Delivered by one of Manchester's most consistent and authentic jungle imprints since Sappo's Advisory. Epicentre grabs our crotch with an iced out riffer, Warhead gives us the finger with some heavily tribalized drum damage, Bou-affiliate Jamoh cooks up a low-swung waspy bassline-riddled Voltage-style shaker while newcomer Kovert Sounds juices up the rave machine and twists up the elements in quite an astonishing way. Finally Buckfast-swigging buccaneer Sl8r returns with another hardcore homage that switches so sexily into a percussive minimal drop you might need new trousers. Get on this now mate.

Review: It's been a year since he last took us on a Hi Res romp but Bladerunner is back on his own label and kicking major jacksy as usual. Four tracks full and not a dry eye in sight, each cut really brings out the Dread alumni's chainsaw bass abilities. "Technological" buzzes with a vicious electrical aesthetic to the bass, "Rolling Fire" is a roaring rip in the space time continuum with classical and future sounds both fusing at 100000mph, "Don't Stop" is nothing short of a jugular slicer while "Wild West" takes us back to the rooting tooting old school with a loose drum swag and much more sinister shadowy bass texture. Full res, high res, Bladerunner for prez.

Review: Still firing off their gunfingers at rapid rates, Serum & Voltage lock horns once again with more brutal funkers. "Cobra" writhes and squeezes more like a boa than biter, such is its XXXXXL charm. "Sumting Special" gets busy on some supreme drum breaks for a workout that wouldn't have gone amiss on Full Cycle around 2002 while "Cyber Funkin" adds a little more disco swing to the fray. Award for the biggest bully bassline on the EP goes to "Mutation". Play it too loudly and you will actually mutated. Incredibly good... But then what did you expect two roller kings?

Review: Influential and prolific, Dave Lee has been one of house music's major proponents of soulful, disco-tinged, vocal tracks. Without question, he was instrumental in its development. Produced With Love is only the second ever Joey Negro album to be released and the first for more than 20 years. It proves that dance music with character still exists and rather than rely on sampling older records, the overwhelming majority of music is newly recorded. Rest assured that there's quite the supporting cast here, on the vocal front: the late great Diane Charlemagne on "Overnight Sensation", Canadian songstress and frequent Nick Holder collaborator Sacha Williamson on "I Recognize" and the legendary Linda Clifford on "Won't Let Go". Fellow London disco dons Horsemeat Disco collaborate on "Dancing Into The Stars" too. The second half of the collection focuses on Lee's impeccable remixes and yes: there is a version of "Must Be The Music" and a track by the inimitable Peven Everett entitled "Love Is Thicker Than Water" alongside several other gems.

Review: With Tel Aviv duo Red Axes' ode to the sun still running strong; one and a half years after its release: here comes the heavyweight remix package. German wunderkind Konstantin Sibold takes the original into afro rave territory with voodoo percussion and a haunting bassline that will be hard to escape from. Fango from the Italian label Degustibis continues his string of strong remixes as he turns the original into a rough beat version: just drop the melody in the break for maximum dancefloor mayhem. And last but not least the Axes themselves come up with a tropical house version that works any time any place. And thus the sun continues to shine.

Higher Stakes bosser Pacso links up with Term for the grizzly opening salvo before Ego Trippin throw a few extra notes into the already infectious bassline riff on the Methodical "Barely Breathing". Elsewhere Coda tans our hides with a high harmonic Clipz-style bassline Certified & Silent Storm dust off the divas while Masker provides the final knock out with the super-bounce roller "Dirty Business". Time to get mucky.

Review: Shogun young bucks Pola and Bryson find their way back into our lives with their second EP of the year. Once again it's four tracks. Once again it's deep, restrained and covers a lot of bases. Once again you'll be hyping up crowds and wooing up your lover... "Delphic Underworld" is a heads-down hypnotiser, "Unsaid" is a soft-focus vocal cut that makes you feel all mushy inside, "Hyperborean" reveals a much darker underbelly to the UK duo with its groaning bass tones while "Mind Seasons" closes with a weave of drifting pianos and subtly sinister bass.

Review: Take the sound of a million rifles firing in your face. That's the level of power and ferociousness we're dealing with from this St Petersburg pact: Multi Function regular Ozma and Claypso Muzak affiliate Lowriderz. "Assassins" is the million gun facial salute, "Burr Bwoy" is a concentrated can of mosh whoop-ass while "Bone Crunching" lives up to its name with its multi-textured basses and creeped out arpeggio. Finally we're taken to the theatre for all the fun of the orchestral fair on the gully galloping "Break Your Move". You want more? You got it... A neck breaking remix from Klay. Knock out.

Review: Building on his Subway cameo on last month's "New Wave" EP with Silent Storm, Certified returns with an entire four track EP. File under: Absolute stinkers, each cut slaps and scraps with gully riff energy and twists along each tale. "The Dark" is all horror and groaning bass, "Begging For More" rips up a classic hardcore-style piano/vocal hook before belching out a bassline swampy enough to poison your own personal water supply while "Impress The Audience" takes the prize of the most subversive track on the pack with its tripped-out riff and swinging percussion. "Allow It" closes on an old school laser blazing shred up. Vibes.

Review: Featurecast flexes hard into the crates right here: digging deep over 20 years of party breaks, he's put together the definitive journey of funk with the refreshing devil may care attitude we've come to expect. His selection excavations are here for all the benefit from... The Wiseguys's lesser-spotted jam "One For The Ladies", Lack Of Afro's horn-melting "The Outsider", Max Sedgley's sugar-sweet "Happy", Flevans' Afrofunk shake-up "12 Apostles" and Featurecast and Aldo Vanucci's 2008 hoe-down stomper "Blue Grassed Devil" are just some are just some of the floor-matured classics amid the 25 cuts on offer here. And that's before we even get to awesome mix. Don't dillydally on this one.

Review: The phantom badman menace returns... Coventry vibe king Hybrid hands over the parts of last year's Jungle War track "What Else" to a host of label mates and newcomers and the results are so sick you'll need a shower once you've heard them. Those after hard-hitting early 2000s style sci-fi savagery should look no further than RMS while those in need of a heads-down soul roll-out will be pleased with Swerve's twist. Elsewhere we have Epicentre and MSdoS junglising your life inside out, Audiomission sandpapering your baby-soft face and the absolutely stinking VIP from the man himself. Proper jungle dynamite. What else is there to say?

Gentle Place - (6:16) 124 BPM

Review: If you've been to a festival this summer, it's likely that you will have heard "Surrender", the first collaboration between Running Back man Gerd Janson and Black Jukebox curator Shan. A pleasing slab of feel-good disco-house with added carnival percussion, the track's appeal likes as much in the duo's ability to place life-affirming peaks (built around colossal disco samples) in all the right places as the rock solid nature of the production. Basically, it sounds like an anthem and is fast turning into one. There's a similarly old school feel to "Gentle Place", too. The track's analogue bassline and layered, carnival house style percussion is brilliantly off-set by the kind of swirling Balearic chords and eyes-closed vocal samples so familiar from Janson's Talamanca System work with Phillip Lauer and Mark Barrott.

Review: Before the world went re-edit crazy, Frico AKA DJ Friction was putting out rock-solid 12" singles of solid scalpel reworks. These days, he rarely bothers with wax, but his appetite for re-editing classics and little known cuts remains. His latest two-track offering is typically tasteful, delivering life-affirming reworks of the artist forever known as the King of Pop. Both "Everybody" and "Lovely One" are typical of Quincy Jones' productions during the disco era, with darting horn lines and sweeping orchestral movements wrapping themselves around killer grooves. Frico's edits extend the tracks in all the right places, with the producer wisely choosing to retain the familiar vocals whilst offering club-friendly arrangements. As a result, both edits sound like party anthems in waiting.

Review: Some 19 years on front the release of their debut single - on, of course, Drop Music - Inland Knights are still going strong. First up on the prolific duo's second single of 2017 is "Say Watt", a formidable peak-time workout built around rubbery disco bass, jazzy keys and their usual no-nonsense, East Midlands deep house beats. Interestingly, "Walk On" sees them depart from their trademark style, instead delivering a shuffling electro/deep house/acid hybrid featuring the kind of wayward vocal that was once all the rage in quirky Japanese pop songs. Crucially, when they allow the beats and acid lines room to breathe, it's something of a heavyweight jam.
