Review:
Sonicc is back with his third EP for DJ Steve Aoki's Los Angeles-based Dim Mak Records. Electro is the name here and we have a nice collection of original work plus a fine series of remixes, starting off "Hades", a pure party-starter containing one hell of a bassline. It's remixed with class by CasaBrothers, who distort that bass even further to the point of no return, and given another ante-up by Slice N Dice who stretch the electro infusions as far as they can go without causing severe head-banging injuries. Sonicc's original of "No Pulse" also features, and is retouched by both DOD and Damian William - both guys coming out on top with their own personal brands of electrolyte power. Finally, we have the bouncy Chicago chords of "Androids" on Sonicc's original cut and the Your Friends remix, a relatively more violent, more wobbly affair.

Review:
Defected is the perfect home for Aussie deep house soldier Fodera. A known face on the likes of Blockhead and Cajual, it was only a matter of time before his heritage house tones and classic sound palette were snapped up. Here we find an MK-flavoured Q&A synth bass swinging on the off-beats while Natalie Conway purrs, pouring her mournful lyrics over the hip-snapping shuffle. Looking for around 10 per cent more edge? Head for the dub. Classic Defected vibes.

Review:
You know what your getting with the Unearthed label, and that's good quality uplifting trance. Following recent releases from the C-Systems, Denis Kenzo, and Victor comes this from the promising Sonny M. The soaring lead and barrage of melodies steal the show here with the throbbing pads wonderfully shimmering off. The pattern will no doubt stick in your head for days on end. Ireland's Fucntion C gives it an extra bit of tech and attitude with some tougher beats and a punchier bottom end, while Brian Flinn adds more musicality and a deeper atmospheric break for the fans of pure trance. Another great release for Unearthed.

Review:
With the likes of Carl Cox and Fatboy Slim (who incidentally named him his producer of the year) jumping straight on everything he does, UK star Sonny Wharton is at the top of his game. This latest on Skint is testament to that fact, this is pure party music that brings an infectious feel-good vibe and boost of energy to any set of any style, no matter what time of night. With funky percussion, a old skool rave piano, and the vocal "Remember back in the day when it was acetate, Technic1210s, MkII's & Dubplates". That's a naughty little recipe guaranteed to do the damage. For the bass heads, there's a seriously heavy remix from Mind Vortex!
