The ambiguously named !!! comes out of nowhere to release a debut EP for London's mythical Warp Records. Just so we're clear, we don't know anything about this artist or the fact that they could indeed be an established artist flying undercover, but what we do know is that !!! can most definitely construct a tight beat. "All U Writers" - a comment we hope is not aimed at us good folks here at Juno - is a disco-tinged lick with instantly memorable vocals and a rather eerie collection of synths travelling in its underbelly. "Gonna Guetta Stomp" is even weirder and even more of a hybrid tune, where a steady house beat links up with off-kilter piano keys, drunken vocals and sci-fi sonics. Let's be honest, it would be difficult for the Warp A&R people to come out with a bad record.
The long-running fruitful relationship between O [Phase] aka Ashley Burchett and Belgian label Token continues on Tunnel Vision. More direct than the UK producer's previous releases on the imprint, "Vision" is a pounding, linear groove, its hissing filters sounding like the release of a thousand steam pistons and complementing the hard-as-nails metal rhythm.
