Review: Welcome to "Rollers Club" where it's happy hour all day and night long. Bou will be your consummate host, and he's rolling deep in decorated company. For the sublime game of contrasts that is the opening tune NAMF helps him balance warm jazzy chords with wriggling grunty jump riff with insane and truly unique effect. Elsewhere fellow gutter-bass showman Telekom joins the party for some grizzly, brain rattling bass on "Violet", Bou goes solo for the brilliantly twitchy, sharp-shooting switch up "Poison" and the man like T>I strolls in casually late for the last, and indeed gulliest track. No antidote required.

Review: If you know T>I's productions then you won't need to read this, you'll already be on them. The man has saint-like status among the very top best roller and riff selectors such as Andy C and Serum. It's because of tracks like these. Each cut hits hard, rattles with funk and is clearly made for the mix. Both "Permanent Marker" and "Absence" really fix our focus on his deeper rolling side, "Don't Stop" switches up a well known break with an understated groaning bass whip, "Rolling With The Nines" takes us on mystical trip, Thresh Hold is freaky creeper with ghostly pianos and strange otherworldly basses while "Move On" closes on a superbly restrained soul stepper that opens out into some beautiful synth strokes midway. This couldn't be more on-point if T>I opened up a knife sharpening franchise.

Review: It's 2017 and you can finally have your cake and eat it. It's all down to Jungle Cakes head chefs Deekline and Ed Solo who have been working hard in the bass kitchen since the foundation days. Here we find them in five Michelin star mode as they serve up a banquet of creations both from their own and their peers' menus. Highlights across this incredible D&B banquet abound from the moment Craze and Infiltrata's (aka 12th Planet) classic "Things Just Ain't The Same 4 Gangstas" opens the collection and Firefox's (aka Roni Size) seminal "Keep It Raw" headbutts us a few tracks later. Elsewhere the Jungle Cakes dons treat us to skanked-out banger after skanked-out banger; Spyda's iconic vocals and the hornets nest b-line on "Soundsystem Entertainer", Tippa's harmonic heaven on "Pass Me The Dubplate" and one of the nastiest remixes Deekline's notorious "Don't Smoke" has ever experienced. Loaded with an array of cool FX and two continuous mixes, this is a true jungle feast. What a time to be alive.

First up is barking badman Kanine who adds a whole new metallic crunch to his woofer-burning "Bad". Tsuki follows in hot pursuit with his modified "Inspector Gadget" where the lower part of the bass Q&A takes much more of a lead with a brand new twist on the hook. Deadly.

Review: It's been a year since he last took us on a Hi Res romp but Bladerunner is back on his own label and kicking major jacksy as usual. Four tracks full and not a dry eye in sight, each cut really brings out the Dread alumni's chainsaw bass abilities. "Technological" buzzes with a vicious electrical aesthetic to the bass, "Rolling Fire" is a roaring rip in the space time continuum with classical and future sounds both fusing at 100000mph, "Don't Stop" is nothing short of a jugular slicer while "Wild West" takes us back to the rooting tooting old school with a loose drum swag and much more sinister shadowy bass texture. Full res, high res, Bladerunner for prez.

Review: Ding ding, round two. S.P.Y gets into his stride as the second instalment of his "Alone In The Dark" series hits hard with five more sterling sounds. "Termination" is every bit the hurter you want it to be with its shattering snare shot and waspy alien bass and "Shadow Play" follows closely behind on the ice front with its chilling pads and sudden junglised drum shatters. "Get Up" follows with big sweeping radar basses buzzing under a soaring vocal and subtle heritage atmospheres and "Coldwave" is just a brutal slap into the 23rd century. Ever the switch flipper, S.P.Y ends on a curveball. This time the Vangelis-goes-neuro drama of "Mind Over Matter" with on-point barsmith Inja. You'll never rave alone.

Review: It's a Birmingham / Bristol Jah-off as long-established Ruffnecker K Jah adds a little twist to young Bristolian newcomer Mixjah. "Soul Survivors" sees the two Jahs go toe-to-toe with a beautifully simplistic bassline groove while on the remix-front "Send Some Riddim" enjoys a beautiful makeover with an elastic bassline stretching around some jazzed-out keys and "Purple Music" goes ultra-violet with its understated minimal bassline roll and cool showers of dusty organ. Comes complete with a killer original from K Jah where the perfect balance of agginess on "Crowds Just Go" guarantees instant mix gratification. Don't mess around.

Review: Skue-K is getting more and more airtime over the last year, appearing more often and on more quality labels, such as Project Allout and the present Tumble Audio. The producer likes to go for the harsher strains of UK bass, deploying some naughty levels of mutant bass amid fast-paced garage beats and house drums. "Criminals", as the name suggests, delivers a load of machete bass for the peak time hours, with "Full Whip" providing more of the same drug, for added effect; Brent Kilner twists up the low frequencies to create an all-out bass attack from an aerial position. Careful with these explosives, son!

Review: We'll cut to the chase on this one: If you're not shouting 'EPICENTRE YOU BADMAN' at the top of your lungs when the bulbous fatman bassline on "Fresh" drops then we suspect your soul might be damaged beyond repair. Other physical kneejerk reactions you might experience when vibing to this seriously sharp release include leaning back as far as you can to the east coast keys of "Infamous", hard-stepping like a mad bugger to the ghetto-grooving Astrophonica-style workout "Run It Back", leaping around like a total idiot to the ragga-tinged roller "Lion A Lion" and getting pranged beyond the cosmos on the darkstyle damager on "Jedi". As for the additional VIP of "Duppied Inna Dance", if you should expect around 20 gunfinger rounds a second. Any less and consult your physician.

Review: You don't get a second chance to make a first impression. But thanks to Friske, you do get a "Second Chance" to impress a dancefloor. Building on his METHXX and Platinum Headz adventures, the highly respected London deepsmith returns with his most comprehensive collection to date. Six slabs high and kicking in all directions, highlights include the mesmerizingly dreamy soul-tinged stepping title track, the physically addictive percussion and subtle-but-savage grumbles of "Departure" and the jazzy allure and bitter metallic aesthetic to "Suspicion". That's just the half of it. It's time to take a chance...

Review: If you've been to a festival this summer, it's likely that you will have heard "Surrender", the first collaboration between Running Back man Gerd Janson and Black Jukebox curator Shan. A pleasing slab of feel-good disco-house with added carnival percussion, the track's appeal likes as much in the duo's ability to place life-affirming peaks (built around colossal disco samples) in all the right places as the rock solid nature of the production. Basically, it sounds like an anthem and is fast turning into one. There's a similarly old school feel to "Gentle Place", too. The track's analogue bassline and layered, carnival house style percussion is brilliantly off-set by the kind of swirling Balearic chords and eyes-closed vocal samples so familiar from Janson's Talamanca System work with Phillip Lauer and Mark Barrott.

"Blessin'" is an uplifting slice of live, drivin' funk, the kind that slayed the Garage of an evening. Digital B-side "Whole Lotta Love (Back To The Box Edit)" sounds like NOIA covering Led Zeppelin - all dirty electronic riffs and 4/4 beats that slowly escalate over the course of 14 minutes!

Review: BOOM! It was about time that good ol' Moony stepped onto the Southpoint catalogue with some puristic UK bass for floor-cleansing. The talented young maestro drops the wavey garage drums of "Bullion" for starters, which is followed-up by a main course featuring the deliciously broken beats of "Mutton" and the soulful half-steps of "Be Your Only". These are only our favourites from the menu but, to be honest, this is without a doubt THE garage EP of the week for us here at Juno. Drop any one of these badboys in the dance and then see what happens...

Review: The dust still settling from his remarkable debut album Des Fleurs earlier this year, Mexican in Paris Joakuim continues his stunning vein of form with a debut on Doc Scott's 31. The titles hide no surprises; "Funk As You" does indeed carry a strong groove, but does so with a much more outer planetary, sci-fi context. Deliciously deep and long, there's a touch of Klute to the spacious introspection here. "Cosmos Dub" flips for a rocksteady halftime vibe. Cased in dubspace and a palpitating heartbeat kick, this is a straight up one-way ticket to Infinity. Bon voyage.

Review: What a meeting of bassline minds; the legendary Zinc and unavoidable newcomer Holy Goof collide for this tasty treat from Zinc's forthcoming Bingo Bass EP. Hookier than pirate convention, spikier than a Sonic cosplay get-together and rougher than sandpaper sandwich, Goof's brittle sound and Zinc's sense of groove are super strong and incredibly complementary.

Review: Considered the anti-hero of disco music, Argoman literally means 'lazy man', however it's also a combination of three Italian producer's names who started the project about one year ago. Any guesses who they might be? We will leave that to you! The track "Chimicalissimo" is new wave Italo disco at its finest, featuring peak-time dancefloor energy completely produced with analogue synths and drum machines. Gerd Jason and Fabrizio Mammarella team up again as Black Spuma and their remix turns the track into a slow burning disco monster. The dub version gives more space to a melancholic piano melody that culminates through analogue arpeggios to an unstoppable build.

Review: David Cabanne (no, another one!) is based in Bordeaux, France. The young producer has released for Waxtefacts Records and Khasia Hills Records previously but now for Brighton based house heroes Wolf Music. First, we have the dusty and disco-fied deepness of "Here I Am" and "Freshly Squeezed" respectively which utilise rusty and skittering old drumcomputer patterns with tastefully borrowed diva vocal samples to stunning effect. Then, the solemn and emotive "Flip The Script" closes out this fine little EP out in style.

Review: Give yourself to Loadstar. It's an order. Not from us, but from the big guys themselves. Gotta take the rough with the smooth though, right? Last time they showered us with "Diamonds", now they're arresting our very senses with the dark art of modern jungle gully. Steppy, switchy, tribal, weird, brutal, eye-poppingly sick - there are many ways to describe this awesome record. One of Loadstar's best right here.

Review: Originally released in 2007, Chicago heavyweight Ralphi Rosario released this pumping big room disco house tool which is reissued on digital in its three dubbed out versions. Another Windy City legend in the form of Lego: responsible for that anthem "El Ritmo De Verdad" back in the day appears, with his fierce and dusty rendition. The equally revered industry veteran from down under: Mr Greg Packer, dons his nu-disco alias again on a sparking dub remix of the previously mentioned version by Lego. Finally, it's back over to the locals in the form of 'Chicago's own' Jamie 3:26 with the "Disco Party Version" which does exactly what is says on the tin: we particularly enjoyed this one.

Review: Fresh from a much-charted EP on Hot Digits, Dawn Again re-emerges from the Melbourne disco scene to deliver a fine EP on Wonder Stories. The producer's naturally instinct is to keep things woozy, hazy and mid-tempo, mixing colourful nu-disco synths with a laidback, Balearic sensibility. This head-in-the-clouds vibe can be heard on both opener "Pyramid Scheme" (easily the EP's standout moment) and "Dharamsala", where a rising and falling bassline wraps itself around a densely layered drum track and exotic Indian instrumentation. Elsewhere, "432 Evergeen" is dark, moody and chugging, while Lawrence Lee Control re-imagines "Pyramid Scheme" as a stab-heavy slab of rave-era house madness.

Review: Definitely not ones to lean back on their heritage, Full Cycle are really ramping up their new releases and supporting fresh and underrated talent. Following last month's exceptional Need For Mirrors EP comes this awesome debut from London riser Kodan. Flexing on that barbed soul vibe, original Creative Source style of liquid, each cut glistens to hide a much murkier underbelly. "Reflections" allures with a brilliantly textured loopy hook that hooks with subtlety. "All Good" splashes out the breaks and peppers it with on-point vocal soul textures while "Unsung" closes on a star-gaze roller that's not dissimilar to Technimatic when they're on a bit of a moody one.

Review: Kenji's ripping the jams up right now. Hot on the heels of his last Dance Concept release ("No Love") here he comes with this funkiest batty slapper to date. "BBB" lives up to its XXX theme with a bouncing bass that soon turns red raw. "Success" subverts the idea of a triumphant anthem with a twisted rising riff and creepy arpeggios. Building into a mystic breakdown before zooming from zero to neck-snap; they say success is sweet, Kenji would argue its more savoury characteristics. Slamming.

Review: Having contributed a track to the split EP that announced Voyage Recordings, founder Andy Hart has since largely focussed on building the label through some canny A&Ring that's seen singles from the likes of Harvey Sutherland, M5K and Urulu. There was the introduction of Hart's Auslander project with Tom Lalley and Fantastic Man in the label's 2015 output too, but the recently-settled Berlin resident hasn't offered up any solo output in some time! Which makes the clutch of brushed deep house burners that feature on this Mistress of your Mind EP most welcome indeed Andy. There are hints that Hart's new surrounds and regular gigs in Berlin are starting to bleed through into his productions - see the heat-treated "Sorayama's Mistress" and full throttle percussive onslaught of "Vienen." It's a development we wholeheartedly approve of!

Review: Sepia's move to Deep Dark & Dangerous is the natural turnout for an artist whose been residing on our charts with nothing but bangers for the last few years. The imprint is quickly picking up all the relevant talents, and is quickly becoming an important force when it comes to new waves of dubstep. "Sakura" charges forth with a militant bass stance, followed by "Eclipse" and its glitchy half-steps surrounded by eerie background sonics. "Point Blank" goes down more soulful pastures, nodding to the likes of Burial in the process, while "Regret" tunes down the tempo entirely and ends up at a slow, Eastern lull with a booming sub bass for added effect. Sublime material from Sepia!

Review: Throughout his career, Be Svendsen has largely been associated with hypnotic and atmospheric tech-house. For this three-tracker on Earthly Delights, he's decided to do things differently. Opener "Decoy", an exotic mid-tempo chugger full of Persian instrumental flourishes and throbbing post-punk style bass, sounds like the sort of thing you'd hear Andrew Weatherall and Sean Johnston play at A Love From Outer Space. The same could be said about "Nabia", whose lilting swamp guitar licks and undulating electronics are almost psychedelic (despite the presence of drums straight from the tech-house playbook). The real killer, though, is "Hide", a gentle Middle Eastern/Balearic hybrid that attractively bobs and weaves for 15 minutes.

Review: Steve Young may be Werkshy, but he's no layabout. Everyday is his third EP of the year to date, building on the success of outings on Midnight Right and Guesthouse. This time round, he's in a thoroughly cheery and summery mood, first impressing with the effortlessly soulful grooves of "Everyday". The track, which features samples from a self help record as well as some vintage soulful vocal snippets, sits somewhere between hazy deep house and reggae-inspired dub house. If you fancy a slightly straighter, U.S deep house style revision, the 4004 Remix should fit the bill. Also worth a listen is EP closer "Everybody", a rolling chunk of disco-driven deep house goodness with added electrofunk bass.

Review: Following a loan move to Dirt Crew, Harry Wolfman returns to longtime home House of Disco. Happily, there's much to enjoy on the producer's first outing for the London label in two years. He begins with the smiling warmth of "Epiphany 5", a rolling chunk of P-Funk-meets-disco-house fusion full of whizzing synth lines, rubbery synth bass and jammed-out keys. "Y'Sul's Ball" sees him jog into bouncy disco-funk edit territory - think sweaty, live-sounding percussion, sweet jazz-funk flourishes and hard-pressed horn lines - while "Ulbis" doffs a cap towards the likes of Chaos in the CBD and Mall Grab via a dusty, jazz-fired deep house workout.

Review: Apologies for banging on about this, But Session Victim's recent Listen To Your Heart album is one of the best Balearic-minded house sets we've heard this year. It goes without saying, then, that this third sampler EP is packed full of playable goodness. While they've naturally included an obligatory slow jam (wonderfully dreamy Balearic beats cut "Castle For Sale") and a rush inducing, gradually building Balearic soundscape (EP highlight "Thermal Explorer"), the other two tracks jostle for position in the "best for peak-time plays" stakes. Choose between the tactile nu-disco/deep house fusion of "Head Over Heels" - all sweeping strings, bubbly synth bass and twinkling piano flourishes - and "Almost Midnight", a wonderful trip into disco deep house territory that's as rich and musically expansive as they come.

Review: It's time to welcome back Spanish nu-disco veteran Ilya Santana, who has been missing in action, presumed DJing, for the best part of two years. As comebacks go, "Electric Mind" is pretty darn good. Underpinned by druggy, Italo-disco style arpeggio lines and squeezable synth-bass, the slo-mo shuffler's best asset is undoubtedly the wild variety of vintage synthesizer lines that Santana smartly layers on top. The remixes are rather tasty, too. There's a decidedly Baldelli-esque, guitar-laden "Cosmic Western" remix from Rare Wiri boss man Rayko, while label regular James Rod pushes up the tempo and emphasizes Santana's Italo-disco influences on his dancefloor-friendly revision.

Review: Mallard was once a frequent face at Bradley Zero's Rhythm Section parties. After dancing hard on countless occasions, the trainee jazz double-bassist eventually plucked up the courage to hand over demos of his bedroom productions. It's those - reworked, polished and professionally produced - that make up the bulk of this debut EP. As first releases go, it's a bit of a doozy. Highlights come thick and fast, from the floatation tank chords, loved-up new age melodies and languid broken house beats of "Aquitaine (606 Lake Mix)" and the drowsy, horizontal bliss of "Marco's Mango", to the sunrise-friendly house breakbeats and fluid chords of "Track 4 (Breaks)" and the modern ambient house warmth of closer "Verte".

Review: Shogun's SGN offshoot was made for fresh bullets like this. A brand new act comprising rising Leeds artists Precision and Subdivision, Koherent make their debut with this breezy atmospheric stepper. "Night Cycles" rolls with a Lenzman or Spectra-esque cold soul feel thanks to the pads and a subtle-but-surging vocal that's all brought together with a warm purring bass. Restrained but weighty, this is how you debut your new project.
