Review: Relative newcomer 1Dan impresses on this lovingly-crafted two-tracker for Batti Batti. Lead cut "Speckled" is particularly warm and cosy, all woozy synths, crackly atmosphere and simple, unfussy production. The addition of some barely-audible backgrown chatter and dub style chords gives it a pleasing depth, despite the clarity of the elements. "Wishing Well", meanwhile, breaks up the beats and thickens the lower end whilst retaining the snug, hot water bottle pads and chords. It's an addictive combination, and one that should see him pick up plenty of new fans. One to watch, for sure.
