Review: Already packing some enthusiastic support from Calvertron, Flore and Peo De Pite, 601 are back with another of their unique breakbeat/jungle hybrids, this time on Aquasky's Passenger label. The Wattstax-sampling "Brothers & Sisters" packs a huge punch thanks to some fiercely wobbled bass, while "This Years Champion" rocks a raw Amen-break alongside moody pads and old-skool rave stabs. The full-on half-step menace of "Space Fury" rounds off this downright dirty EP.

Review: A huge tune that fuses moody breakbeat textures with jungle beats, "The Game" sees 601 continue their run of big singles. Putting the raw, sampled snares out front pays off as it captures all the energy of early hardcore and D&B, whilst still coming in at a tempo familiar to breaks DJs today. Former Breakspoll winner DJ Chamber strips "The Game" back to make the old-skool breaks even more present, winding in some LFO-flickering filter bass that thankfully doesn't get in the those drums.
