Review: It's a bold move for both Metric and Skrillex as OWSLA expands its repertoire to include techno and electro. Metric is clearly in fine fettle throughout as we're treated to "Prophecies", a sprightly, neon riff that's almost 8-bit in its innocent make up. The golden vibes continue as "Motion Study" oozes a similar positive flavour thanks to a shimmering hook that looks nowhere but up. "Rave Weapon" counters these uplifting sessions with a hard-assed percussive groove that borders techno and breakbeat with heads down distinction. The remixes are all high scorers, too: Aeroplane steals the show with his incredible down-pitched rub, UZ remix create rave chaos and Mike Starr strips it back nice and sleazy.
