Anders Ilar At Juno Download

Review: Anders Ilar and John Tejada both trace their roots back to the late 90s and in particular to that grey area between original minimal and IDM. It's no surprise then that Tejada has remixed Anders's "Mystery Ride" or that he has turned it into one of his typically melodic grooves. As ever with Tejada, the focus is on the interplay between his lithe, metallic rhythm and the warm, building melody that wraps itself around it as the track unfolds. Bill Youngman offers a radically different view with his version of "Escape". The sound design is textured and mysterious, but the stepping rhythm and heavy claps ensure that it remains rooted on the dance floor. Ilar also contributes the menacing, bass-led "Shadowplay".
