Review: If Tek's latest release is a commentary on the Hungarian capital's club scene, then it seems that Budapest techno fans like their rhythms stripped back and spacey. Indeed, Budapest has a tripped out side thanks to Tek's uses of insistent bleeps and other unidentified outer space sound effects that populate its jacking, minimal groove. There's also a 'Hidden' mix which furthers Tek's out-there agenda. Repetitive riffs and atmospheric synth lines hang in the air as the producer offers a harder-edged take on the original arrangement. It sounds like Budapest has developed its own take on a sound birthed in Berlin and Detroit.
