Review:
Back under their original alias - having taken some very successful time out for their their straight-up electro project Black Strobe - Aquasky return in a big way with this latest full-length collection, which, from Amen-sampling opener "Take Over Me" goes at full pelt. Excursions into astral dubstep ("Raise The Devil"), fierce fidgety bassline ("Girls Girls Girls") and murky grime goodness ("Phantom") all come together to make this one of the most debauched and down right filthy albums we've heard in a long while.

Review:
Part one of two wherein we find Aquasky's 2011 EP gets an upfront facelift from a very credible cross-section of contemporary artists. The title track gets the biggest repositioning by Russian upstarts The Damn Bell Doors who chew up Aquasky's original and spit it back in a multi-colour bass rainbow that's so bright and confrontational it'll give the likes of Borgore a run for his money. Track two sees Aquasky remixing their own work. A collabo with Pyramid and Roisin Brophy, they've switched "And The Beat Goes" up so it sits cheekily sits between screeching dubstep and rollicking drum & bass. If you're looking for some real face-melters for your set you won't go wrong with these one bit...

Review:
Part two of two. While Aquasky's previous remix package packed a serious bass and breaks punch, this release is more about the four/four. That's not to say it isn't saturated in low-end energy itself... Will Bailey's never been shy of a bit of filth, and here, on his remix of "Press Play", he lays it down so thickly it sounds like early Switch fodder. Finishing off the package with suitable hand-waving aplomb, Heavyfeet take "And The Beat Goes" way back to 91 with skippy breaks and lush pianos before dropping you into yet another bass-bitten riff. Quickly now, we hear the Devil has already bought up most the copies of this already...

Review:
Equally at home with breaks and D&B, as well as the electro-house of their Black Noise alias, the trio behind Aquasky return with these two new crucial tunes that see them fuse breaks and tech-funk with a grimey attitude and dubstep bass. "Take Me There" chops and drops vocals from Diane Charlemagne over a punishing switch-step beat and an enormous lead sound, while "Feel The Sound" is a 130bpm blow-out that shows that, despite having formed in the mid-90s, the lads have relentlessly avoided going soft over time. Hard, floor-filling stuff and a perfect combination of styles.

Review:
Veteran South Coast bassheads Aquasky have been around longer than the Ark, constantly changing shape to keep abreast of current musical trends. This remix EP is a great case in point. The headline-grabbing track is a wobbly, pulsing dubstep work of Diane Charlemagne collaboration "Take Me There" that should appeal to a wide range of bass fiends. Then there's the Jay Robinson rework, which smashes together old skool hardcore and contemporary dubstep to devastating effect. The EP closes with a 601 remake of "Feel The Sound", which hits all the retro-rave buttons with its original hardcore breaks, junglist snares and warped noises.
