Review:
While most German house producers obsess with the sounds of 90s deep house, it would appear that Audio Werner has discovered the joys of 2-step. The title track is led by swinging, clipped drums that have a steely precision thanks to Werner's minimal background, while the spacey, atmospheric chords are more Berghain than Twice as Nice. "Duvel" sees Audio Werner showcase his techno credentials, as a stripped back, rolling rhythm and dark riffs come together, while "All of Her" is more inventive, with a dark, plucked bass providing the basis for insistent claps and drunken piano keys to create a new vision for jacking house.

Review:
Audio Werner showcases two distinctly different styles for Minibar. "Anytime" is a more conventional minimal house track; stripped back but melodic, layered but undertsated, it has echoes of mid-00s Villalobos and even some of Luciano's work for Perlon as rhythms, drums and sublte hooks overlap and Werner adds some suitably trippy elements like a timestretched bassline. "Ever" is a totally different proposition: inspired by the jazzy house of mid-90s Chicago, its clipped drums, hissing percussion and swinging groove support tinkling piano lines recall Wyndell Long and Gemini at their most sensuous - which is the highest accolade anyone can pay a modern day producer.
