Review: The aural equivalent of having your brain bashed out by a brick, this heavy metal-meets-skullstep variety of dubstep isn't exactly to everyone's tastes, but if that's your thing then boy, are you going to be blown away by Bong-Ra. The Monolith EP marks the first release on Prospect Recordings and makes a bold statement of intent from the off. Kicking off with the gritty, vocal-driven title track, it's all clashing SFX, power subs and grating mid range. We move through such mad moments as "Dawn Of The Megalomaniacs" with its massive guitar riffs, pounding drums and gratuitous violent edge to the relentless pounding of gabba-like "Crawlers", which brings the EP to a dramatic close.
