"Strip Club" suggests that C24 signing BB is adopting a more mellow approach than usual. With its tumbling beats, inectious 'ooh aah' vocal snippets and bleepy, buzzing bassline, it could almost be a summer club tune. However, any mainstream audience would have to get past the title track first -and it offers a radically different perspective. "Blast" is all rough, unquantized beats and rugged low-frequency bleeps that support scatter-gun percussive bursts. But the most significant element is the bassline; like the low end from an Ed Rush late 90s release on downers, its ominous, cavernous sound threatens to engulf everything in its path.
