Review: This two-tracker from Subsoil offers an interesting approach to the edit-not-edit genre. Instead of collecting together a bunch of different edits, they've decided to get two producers - in this case Changed and Editorial veteran Disco Tech - to rework the same (uncredited) disco/soul original. Changed is up first, offering a slick, sultry and occasionally sensuous interpretation that sits somewhere between the head-nodding disco/house of Matthew Kyle and the fluid disco of the original. Disco Tech's version, meanwhile, takes some time to build before letting the original chorus and strings take over. His use of drops and FX is, in particular, excellent.
