Clark Davis At Juno Download

Review: Hamburg-based Clark Davis has got a good ear for a groove, and this EP for Connect Four is characterized by the ferocity of his low-end heavy deep house grooves. Tech-tinged but bestowed with just the right amount of funk, "Postman" - particularly in its Butane Mix form - is an excellent example of wringing the last drops of funk from a seemingly sparse, out-there production. It ticks plenty of other boxes, too, thanks to its ricocheting chords and cut-up vocal samples. The faster but equally undulating "Grandma's Last Steps" is also a fine example of bumpin', uncluttered deepness.
