Corvum At Juno Download

Review: Bizarrely, Corvum is a Greek producer who "looks like the bass player from a Norwegian black metal band". While capable of fusing contemporary deep house and Detroit techno - see the near-anthemic title track - he's at his best when offering flashbacks to a far more innocent time in techno's history. The shuffling "The Decades of Lost Puress" and "Deepness" sound like revitalized refugees from early '90s Belgian techno (check the ambient synths and 4/4 breakbeat grooves), while "Vintage" comes on like some long lost early Black Dog jam. "Await O Perseverance", meanwhile, is a near as you'll get to classic Renegade Soundwave without buying their 12s. There's even a fantastically ragging acid techno tweak of the title track. It's an unusual EP, all told, but actually rather good.
