Counterfeit At Juno Download

Review: There's something strangely dream-like about this self-titled cut from the mysterious Counterfeit. At times, the teary-eyed vocal does a good impression of Peter Gabriel circa "Mercy Street" (from the So album, fact fans), while the bubbling, melancholic backdrop - Germanic deep house with bittersweet synth-pop touches - sounds like something the Pet Shop Boys would have made circa Behaviour, had Solomun been producing them rather than Harold Faltermeyer. While this all might sound a bit odd, but it's actually rather lovely, coming on like a laidback version of Benoit & Sergio - which, in our book at least, is a very good thing.
