Review: Having released a gaggle of absolutely essential material for Ten Thousand Yen, Welsh future-bass crew CRST have made the switch to Deep Thrills - Herve's newly-launched imprint. "Put A Spell On You" is a masterpiece of fats strings and super-tight drums, while "Heartbeat" keeps things on a dubby Detroit tip replete with chopped vocals that sound strangely like Stevie Wonder. The awkward-step of "Forever After" is well worth investigating too, as is the Todd Edwards-esque spank of "Feel It". We're simply addicted to CRST right now, and thankfully they've delivered six more reasons to keep the faith right here.

Review: Following the Paper Route Gangsters and Fatima into a small club of artists who have released songs bearing the same title as the fabled jheri-curl juice from Eddie Murphy's "Coming To America", CRST once again smash it on this EP on Deep Thrills. "Soul Glo (Part 1)" is simply magnificent - a UKF/jack house fusion with huge amounts of swing to the beats - while more pared-down material like the bass punch of "Being With You" and the spaced-out futurisms of "Big Bwoy Sound" are equally essential. Icey 2-stepper "You Are Wild" and the 808-fest "Midnight" round off another excellent release from this enormously talented UK production team.

Review: Having previously had "The Bells" remixed by Girl Unit among others, Welsh funky merchants CRST return with a lean, stripped down VIP of "The Bells" which absolutely smacks you round the face with raw, focused club energy. With pitch perfect snares and motorik chords they really keep the funk fresh on a tune that clearly going to get a lot of love in the next few months. "Saturday Tingz" is just as vital - sampling some huge female vocals and chopping them over a highly percussive beat which CRST skilfully reduce down to a minimal stomp for breakdowns. Highly recommended!
