D'eon At Juno Download

Review: After building a gentle buzz around two free albums and a string of albums and EPs for Hippos In Tanks in the past two years, Montreal resident d'Eon steps up with an album proper that slots in perfectly between the fractured singer-songwriting of Laurel Halo and Peaking Lights, and the more austere synthesiser studies of Oneohtrix Point Never. "Now You Do" certainly harks back to the wilder end of 1980s electronic musicians, while d'Eon's own voice intones a fragile croon that it's hard not to like. While it's a densely produced album, LP avoids the temptation to head purposefully towards lo-fi production, leaving the music standing comfortably on its own. Recommended.
