Review: Ah Mr Gregory, he of "Tropical Soundclash" fame. If you're not familiar with his work, get to know! And if you are familiar with his work, you'll know exactly what we're talking about here. Faya Combo Cuts Volume 2 is a digital re-release from 2006, but with tropical rhythms and deep house still very much the order of the day, this is still just as relevant as it ever has been. "Traffic" is a searing, psychedelic saga with elongated synth screams that are almost reminiscent of the noises conjured by Moroder on "I Feel Love". Deep, spacey and rolling, it's the best traffic jam you'll ever experience. "Work Me" is more of a darker, heads-down affair with layers beyond layers of percussion and some well crafted loops designed purely to mess up your dancefloor's collective mind. Faya Combo?
