Review: Joining forces with Dark Sky for a pair of forthright bangers, Ben Westbeech's Breach project goes from strength to strength with its adventures into house jams with a rough, bruk flavour and oodles of sub-testing frequencies built for proper soundsystem battering. "The Click" keeps things lean and mean, letting a sizzling hat ring out while a solitary clap trucks away underneath. This track is all about subtle sound design and that head-crushing bass line, with no need for any distractions. "Fallout" on the flip is much livelier, laying down some slick vocal snippets and rounding out a more friendly sort of bassline for safer dancefloor play.

Review: Having made waves with their 50Weapons EP last year, the Black Rainbows EP sees the trio's triumphant return to Black Acre. Opening with the sparse, stripped back rhythms of "F-Technology", razor sharp snare hits dovetail between cavernous bass hits to create the kind of dread-inducing atmospheres one associates with the label. "Tremor", meanwhile is all about those rough and tumble drums, while the sub bass groans of "Zoom" and neon-tinged roughness of "Totum" round off an unsurprisingly excellent package. There's nobody hitting that sweet spot between classic dubstep and contemporary garage styles quite like Dark Sky, and this is as excellent an example of their productions as you'll hear.

Review: With the ripples emanating from their bass music concoctions spreading ever wider, dynamic trio Dark Sky make the move to Tectonic to nudge that very label's remit into new territory. With their previous form on 50 Weapons and Black Acre amongst others, "Confunktion" sounds like a logical next step in limber but deadly accurate electro stylings. They don't lean on obvious tropes of the genre, bringing a more modern bass music slant to the synths and fully employing studio skills to make for an addictive, head-snapping beast of a track. "Double U" heads into a freakier domain defined by globulous synth drops and a tribal groove as fruity as it is funky.

Review: Dropped on DVA's XLR8R mix from the end of last year, Dark Sky's "High Rise" finally gets a release on Blunted Robots and it may well be their best release to date. Tightly crafted minimal beats and glacial pads rule the roost on "High Rise", while a bassline constructed from percussion hits maintains the energy on this UKF future-classic. "Armour" is on the flip with a more fleshed-out and mean vibe running throughout - check out those hyped, rattlesnake snares for example - and the ocean deep chords on the breakdowns. Heavy stuff.

Review: London based producer Dark Sky arrives on Bristol label, Black Acre with a superb double header. The title track sees a stepping dubtech intro fly into rave chords and an arsenal of tough breaks, whilst haunting vocals wind around chilly synths. "Ghost Notes," on the flip sees a stun of fluoro synth work and burly aquacrunk beats colliding together in a Nintendo meets dub rave extravaganza.
