Review:
German twosome Deela's career may have passed you by. Don't worry, though, because help is at hand in the shape of this action-packed Best Of from Switchstance. If you dig afrobeat, jazz, Latin and funk, there's plenty to enjoy. From the snappy beats and soft focus Cuban vibes of Flamenco guitar-laden jam "Perrero" and tango/hip-hop fusion of "Shelter Blues", to the relentless percussion of "Absourdo" and effortless jazz-funk breaks of "Enjoy", Deela cleverly combine the best global flavours in breezy, dancefloor-friendly chunks. There's even a short, sun-flecked blast of downtempo Balaeric goodness in the shape of closer "King Alpha & Queen Omega".

Review:
Deela: a pair of German funksters who speak with a wholly international tongue. Rumbullion: the antiquated full name for rum. There's very little not to like in those definitions. And there's very little not to like on this sophomore album. The long-awaited follow up to 2007's Mano Mano, it's business as usual as we fly through 10 examples of well executed Afro, dub, Cuban, Latino and thoroughbred funk. From the deeply hypnotic swing of "Ruff & Tuff" to the more UK-bass inspired swagger of "Scars & Bruises" via the synapse-snapping club banger "Drumbullion", Rumbullion is as tasty and intoxicating as its name suggests.

Review:
The studio alias of German producer Ingo Moell, Deela's mastery of Afro-funk, jazz, Latin and hip-hop has seen him work with the Jungle Brothers and in turn has been remixed by the likes of Kid Loco and Radio Citizen. This new EP might just be his best yet - with the incredible, nu-soul shimmy of "More Kindness" nestling up nicely against the epic spacey hip-hop vibe of "Tell Me Your Secrets" - a heady mix of swirling echo-jazz and raw drums. "Mistura" brings out the carnival whistles and kaleidoscopic percussion for a rousing closer, while Diesler's mix of "Tell Me Your Secrets" is also included as a nicely electroid counterpoint to the organic-sounding original.
