Review: One of the secrets of Hypercolour's success over the last couple of years is the label's willingness to give up-and-coming producers a go. Hence this EP from Newcastle-born Edmondson, who's barely out of nappies. Chestnut Ave is promising stuff, full of slick deepness, fluid grooves and wide-eyed late night melodies. With its yearning pianos, bassy but subdued groove and half-whispered vocal samples, the title track is something of a dancefloor tear jerker. There's a dreaminess to the deep two-step of "Tendency", while "U Belong" sounds like glitchy dub house for the regretamine generation. Best of all, though, are the woozy, close contact vibes of "Don't Stop", which is the sort of disco-flecked slow jam which the House of Disco label used to champion.
