Review: Something a little different courtesy of Kerri Chandler's Madhouse imprint. Gabriele Carasco is a classically trained pianist; here uses those skills to the full on an EP of expansive piano house jams. But this is not piano house in the traditional sense. Lead cut "The Piano" is little more than seven minutes of classical solos with a simple house beat, while "Jazzy" offers a contemporary take on St Germain-ish jazz-house. "Brain" delves deeper still - all drifting chords and tinkling ivories - whilst "Passengers", the most authentically 'housey' track of the lot - sounds like some of Kerri Chandler's more hypnotic works. Chandler himself remixes, delivering a version that brings to mind vintage Ame.
