Review: Having spent his formative years as a journalist and later a producer of murky, late night tackle, flame-haired DJ Gavin Herlihy has switched focus again. "Endless Feeling" is a pleasingly heady mix of fluid deepness, Benoit & Sergio-ish textures and wonderfully emotive synth washes. "Tell Me What You Need" continues on a similar path, mixing FX-laden organs and loose, off-kilter beats with whispered vocals. A Seth Troxler-friendly trio of tracks is completed by "The Sequence", a bumpin' and fun concoction that adds some much oomph to an otherwise smooth EP.

Review: An integral part of the Leftroom crew, Laura Jones's debut mix CD was a dark and druggy yet quietly melodic house mix, and this sampler sees three of the compilation's highlights receive their own release. Ryan Crosson's remix of Gavin Herlihy's "C'mon People" combines a minimal tech-house groove with a rippling disco sensibility, while Herlihy's remix of Tolfrey & Daniel's "It Ain't Over Yet" combines a suspended rhythm with some irresistibly deep analogue bass. Finally, Tolfrey & Russo's mix of Jones' own "Intentions" is a sleazy piece of house that quietly twinkles like a glitterball suspended above the dancefloor, as dubby chords ring out.

Review: With five tracks to choose from, this autumnal taste-of-summer from reliable sorts Leftroom is a bit of a bumper package. It offers plenty of reliable dancefloor fodder in the label's now familiar late night style, a cosy mix of contemporary deep house, old skool sassiness and booming, big room grooves. There's a touch of OTT piano flavour from Jack Riley and a surprisingly jolly excursion from former Mixmag man Gavin Herlihy, but for the most part it's faithfully dark and dubby. Throughout, there's enough quality to suggest that the whole EP should be an essential purchase.
