Following on from last year's Connecting The Dots album, German producer HOSH aka Holger Behn gets remixed by some high-profile names. Canada's Misstress Barbara has been out of the spotlight for some time but her soulful vocals feature on "Finally Mine". Remixer Gorge retains the part that sees her intoning 'open my heart', and fuses it with a pulsing, acid-flecked groove and dramatic breakdowns. Ost & Kjex don't divert from their chosen script, and their take on "Hamburg Night" is based on squelchy, stripped back rhythms and out there vocal samples. Finally, Poker Flat's Steve Bug proves why he's one of the most consistent producers out there, with a soaring bass and eerie organ-heavy take on "Antonelli Screaming".
Diynamic have been pushing the boat out for crew member Holger Behn's Forever Young series, pressing up limited 10" singles, making videos and generally pushing the concept (each track is apparently meant to represent a different fragment of a child's dream). This third installment (of four) sees Behn in typically melodic form, with lead cut "Dancer" delivering a warm, fluid and jaunty fusion of chiming electronica, shuffling nu-disco and dreamy deep house. "Disc Jockey" moves further towards disco territory, building the action around hustling beats, an addictive funk organ loop and a jumpy bassline. It's effortlessly groovy, with more than enough hooks to keep a dancefloor working.
