Ital At Juno Download

Review: Given the success of Amanda Brown's 100% Silk and Not Not Fun labels in recent times and Ital's integral musical role in their rise to prominence, it would be easy to accuse Planet Mu of being almost too canny in releasing the producer's debut album under the name. However the label run by Paradinas' has brushed off such criticism in the past - most recently with their Juke related endeavours - and Ital is likely to be open to a much wider audience on Planet Mu. There is much to reward the dedicated listener in Hive Mind, which at just five tracks long might confuse some but is filled with elongated and at times unhinged deviations through house music that touch on the excellence of his self released Culture Clubs 12" from last year. The sample that bursts through to deliver its money note in the opening track will sound weirdly prescient given recent sad celebrity news, whilst the remainder of the album sucks you in fully in a manner reminiscent of the recent Blondes album.

Review: In its original form, this latest audio missive from electronic producer Daniel Martin-McCormick is a bit of an oddity. Sitting somewhere between the neck-snapping electro grooves of Dexter (think early Clone) and the chiming, bleep-heavy electronica of Warp's original Artificial Intelligence series, it's like a glistening, soft-focus take on dancefloor electro with a few clattering noises thrown in. It should appeal to more open-minded nu-disco heads. Saviour attempts to provide an anthemic alternate version, lacing his similarly skewiff remix with the vocals from Candi Station's much-sampled "You've Got The Love". It's a definite Marmite track, but dropped at the right moment, in the right circumstances, it will cause commotion. More quirky goodness from 100 Silk.
