It's perhaps the greatest compliment you can lay on the lap of Permanent Vacation that they seem content for this to be the status quo, happy for people to focus their affections on the music rather than the label. The imprint's latest will undoubtedly ensure more fanfare is directed at Jacob Korn and PV regulars GoodGuy Mikesh and Filburt as "Phillip Dolphia" is a wondrous slice of European deep house bristling with summer intentions and dominated by that thick string laden touch at its core. "The Ranch" presents the trio in more downtrodden mood, while Bobby Johnson's stalwart Lauer is a nice choice to roughen up the track with a crystalline electro remix dominated by that brutal kick drum.
