Review: Jamie Grind has been making waves with his own unique brand of UK garage revivalism for the last year or so, and this release for the Wicked Bass imprint demonstrates perfectly what all the fuss is about. "Rum N Raisin" combines a pure UK garage flex with the strings of classic house in a way that doesn't feel overly referential - just exceptionally well produced. "A Night In Detroit" meanwhile is a much deeper affair, combining Motor City organ sounds with a stripped back 2-step rhythm. Big remix support comes from Hackman, who turns in a bright, club ready house reworking and Throwing Snow, whose radically dark and melancholic symphonic reworking is perhaps the highlight of the EP.
