Review:
Justin Martin and Eats Everything on Hypercolour; it's got to be big, right? Certainly, "Feather Fight" has all the makings of a big dancefloor hit, from foreboding, siren-boasting build-ups and loose but sturdy drums, to bassbin-bothering garage sub and Todd Edwards-ish vocal cut-ups. It also takes about four minutes to drop, by which point you'll be ready to raise your arms skyward while whooping and hollering like an American college student. "Harpy" attempts to repeat the trick, pairing touchy-feely deep house pads and melodies with dirty bassline pressure. Like the (virtual) A-side, it should wreak havoc on dancefloors around the globe.

Review:
A candidate for house music's album of the year, Ghettos & Gardens gets six treatments that upkeep the sonic standard Justin originally set this summer. The standout rub - for its uptempo cheekiness alone - is Bachelors Of Science's ace half-step/double time switches on the album title track, but each of these reversions sparkles in its own special way. From Catz n Dogz's added melancholy on "Butterflies" to Danny Daze's classic acid house injection on "The Gurner", this is an exemplary lesson in how to nail a remix. Very impressive if you consider how spotless the originals are.

Review:
The second instalment in this remix series varies wildly in sound and tempo. At one end of the spectrum there are the trance horror riffs and organic, high-speed break beats of Shadow Child's 'In Search of 94' version of "Riding Spaceships". It faithfully replicates the sound of ambient jungle and is in stark contrast to the sweet vocal house of Tanner Ross' take on "The Gurner". There's house of a harder, tougher persuasion here too on the slamming beats and heavy filtering of Pezzner's Water Mammal version of "Molokini", but it can't compare to the tearing low end and enormous wall of spiralling acid that Claude Von Stroke brings on his version of the title track.

Review:
Having made his debut on Claude Von Stroke's Dirtybird way back in 2005, multi-talented San Fran electro-bass producer Justin Martin makes his full-length debut with this excellent LP. Luckily for fans of last year's excellent, juke-influenced collaboration with Ardalan, "Lezgo", there's a VIP mix included here that makes for a bigger, more building rerub, while Martin also does a great job covering Goldie's seminal "Kemistry" - adding some real venom and bite in the process. Look out for the deep and twisting "Ruff Stuff" and the syrupy "Night Calling" too.
