Review:
Kromestar returns with his second artist album in the shape of Colourful Vibrations, released on the Dubstep For Deep Heads imprint. Sounding like a natural progression from his 2009 opus My Sound, the 12 track selection veers between dubby vocal tinged melancholia ("Family Apart"), noodling synths ("Disagree", "You're Still On My Mind"), atmospheric dread ("Sweet Nightmares") and some truly delicate melodies ("A Stroll In The Night"). All in all it feels like a hugely personal body of music. There's much to explore here - a hugely accomplished follow up.

Review:
Imagine a siren made of bass. We're not talking your namby pamby sirens here, we're talking 'get the hell up and move, this is a massive emergency' style sirens. Air raid level. Got that? Now imagine it as a tune. Just one long, sawing, urgent siren that wails incessantly, ordering your dancefloor to move like they've never moved before... Cool huh? You can thank Kromestar for this. By our reckoning he's not done a bum tune yet - and this could be his most unique, forward thinking bomb to date. For added kicks Origin Audio have thrown in Dark Tantrums' "The Growler". A more traditional half step sub low affair, the title says it all; an ever morphing bassline that grizzles and croaks so hard, at points it eats itself with menace. Bring the "Noiz!"

Review:
Having wowed us with his album Hektagon in '09, Kromestar is back with his Parallel Sounds EP on Cosmic Bridge - a four-track venture which kicks off with the deep tones of "Don't Make Sense", with its lolloping rhythm and atmospheric twists. "2012", highlight of the EP, is all thunderous bassline and thick, treacly sub bass pressure crackling under the weight of the track with chiming SFX and hissing atmospherics. "In 2 Minds" switches to a more minimal, stripped back soundscape with gentle bells, shimmying synths, choral element; whilst closing cut "Outer Limit (feat. Team Starfleet)" pairs movie sample with a sci-fi sensibility. Massive.
