Played by: King DJ/Regalia Recordings, Slow It Down, Stan Tropic, Juno Recommends Deep House, Lesale, Jakobin&domino
Review:
There's something heartwarming about the way Vienna's Luv Shack crew go about their business. From the start, their releases have given the impression of being made by a bunch of mates having a whale a time in the studio. This seventh release is no different. Jakobin and Domino kick things off with "Sensation", a simple but effective revivalist '90s house groover. LeSale's "Before The Night" delivers simpler thrills, all bright and breezy pianos and rubbery bottom end, while Burnin Tears' excellent "Your Fantasy" sounds like a long lost B-side dub from a particularly touchy-feely '80s alternative pop cut. Lee Stevens and Jakobin round things off with the wonderful "Dem Young People", an almost melancholy chunk of gorgeous, string-drenched deepness.

Review:
Given the success of their other releases, it's hard to believe that this is only the fifth release from Austria's Luv Shack label. It features four collaborations between Lee Stevens and various Luv Shack luminaries, all of which fit into the label's sweet, touchy-feely deep house template. "LuvSick", Stevens' hook-up with LeSale, is positively Balearic in its feelgood outlook, while "Find A Girl" (co-produced by Jakobin) takes a woozier, fuller approach, all drowsy chords and filter-heavy grooves. "Deep Inside", with the brilliantly named Simonlebon, recalls classic US deep house of old - all analogue percussion and booming 909 boss - while "Be Yourself" casually drifts between the speakers on a warming wave of nu-disco synths and Balearic chords.

Played by: Justin Miller, DJ Friction (Germany), Martin Brodin, Electric Boogie (Ism Midnight Riot), Things Happen, Nhan Solo, Swanken
Review:
The first split EP from Austrian newcomers Luv Shack Records, Luv Is Louder, delivered a distinctly Balearic blend of soft-focus disco and sparkling, piano-laden house. This second offering is just as sunny. LeSale's opener, "On The Beach", seems tailor-made for dancing on terraces in blazing heat - all lazy horns, spine-tingling pianos and chunky disco bass. Burnin' Tears go deeper on "How I Feel", utilising pitched-down soulful vocal samples for a delightful wrongspeed/rightspeed fusion. Jakobin and Domino deliver a dubbed-out take on MK-era US garage with the formidable "Struggle", while Lee Stevens goes all bleary-eyed and Balearic on comfy closer "Reapers Of Luv". A sloppy kiss of a release...with added tongue.

Review:
Newcomers Luv Shack Records have a simple agenda: to prove that the city of Vienna is home to a hotbed of new production talent. This first split EP, featuring four distinct cuts from some of their homegrown artists, suggests that they could do good things in 2012. LeSale starts things off with "Make Me Feel So Good", a fabulously luxurious chunk of goodtime disco with a distinct soulful twist. Burnin Tears offer a dub fusion of sun-kissed nu-disco and organic deep house, while Jakobin & Domino jack it out with the delightfully bumpin' acid track "Night Glow". A thrilling slab of piano heavy, late night nu-disco from The Beautiful People completes a fine package.
