Review: Austria-based Sammy "LeSale"Jenkins returns to Vienna's LuvShack imprint with a sparkling blast of piano-laden nu-disco. In truth, it arguably has more in common with classic house than nu-disco, but its summery warmth and tasty grooves recall the halcyon days of disco. Burnin Tears remixes, turning the bouncy original into a heady deep house groover. "What You Get", meanwhile, sees Jenkins move further towards straight-up house territory with a cut that intelligently fuses classic vocal samples (Marlena Shaw, this time), acid tweakery and late night disco vibes. The package is completed by a delightfully touchy-feely remix of the same track by Jakobin and Domino.

Review: LeSale returns to regular home Luv Shack for a darker than usual trip into fuzzy house territory. "LeSexe" is something of a basement bumper, all liquid synth bass, hazy vocal samples, cosmic chords and darting melodies. Lee Stevens and Domino go deeper on their remix, opting for thick, US-house inspired chords, thickset beats and shuffling beats. "Symphony" is an altogether more upbeat affair, fixing wide-eyed, neo-Balearic melodies and vocal samples to acid bass and fluid chords. SimonLeBon and Jakobin's remix is, if anything, even more beautiful, thanks to judicious use of sweet chords and tear-jerking melodies.
