Malcolm Powder At Juno Download

Review: Trippy funky breaks courtesy of the Crazy Rabbit label, as Malcolm Powder's "The Future Is Laughing" gets two overhauls that rip it apart and piece it together with drug-addled abandon. DJ Purple Rabbit does some serious damage to the spoken word samples, twisting pitches through a heavy delay while a synthetic bass loop runs hard in the foreground. The accompanying 'Freaked Tribal mix" gets even, well, freakier as heavily modulated kicks and keys chime over an Afrobeat rhythm.
