Review:
Hailing from Toronto, Marcus Visionary has long been a force on the Canadian drum and bass scene. As a self confessed junglist, he has continuously advocated the ragga influenced element in the music. Here his "Big Bad Sound" gets the overhaul treatment from four of the finest jump up producers currently operating and the results are mighty fine indeed. From the all out wobble of Cabin Fever's offering, to a ravetastic remix from Certified Sickness, through iLL Haze's bouncy jungle version to Syanide's grimey relick, Hustlin Beats have pulled out all the stops to bring you a fat slice of dancefloor action.

Review:
Following two teaser EPs, the real deal finally arrives! Marcus Visionary's latest album, released on New York Imprint 'Liondub International', serves as a rich tapestry weaving together the Toronto native's musical influences, which range from jungle and drum and bass to reggae and dub. Featuring guest appearance from the likes of Sugar Minott, Johnny Osbourne, Kandiman, Jahdan and Messenger Selah, there is plenty of old school fire brought to the table here, with the dub heavy vibes of "Bounce" and rattling breaks of "Murder" Featuring a killer vocal turn from Pad Anthony and lots of siren action standing out as our favourites. Immense.

Review:
The one and only Marcus Visionary steps up and provides the Jungle Assassins Vol 2 on the High Culture imprint. Think jungle revivalist vibes a-plenty across this four-track EP. Kicking off with the upbeat and infectiously dance-able "Ruler" which pairs rattling breaks with cheery jungle chirrups and lovely reggae vocal. Next comes "Heavy Vibration" continues the theme with plenty of nod to yesteryear's roots with punchy drums and shimmying melodies, whilst "Badboy Skank" gets down and dirty. Last but not least "My Life" brings the EP to a close with glistening SFX and low slung rhythms and bassline fervor.

Review:
Serial badass junglist Marcus Visionary continues to bring the ruckus with another couple of killer cuts, all in his iconic jungle revivalist style with oodles of modern D&B production thrown in to the mix. "Bass Report" features a vocal sample from legendary reggae artist Gregory Isaacs, and this vocal curls and dances like smoke rings around the stuttering drum beats, jingling SFX and rolling bassline below. The track tells a story about the music's heritage as well as being a whole lot of fun! There's also a dub version too, should you wish to hear the track without Isaac's vocal.

Review:
Expect the usual jungle-meets-D&B madness from Marcus Visionary with plenty of reggae vibes, soulful, uplifting vocals and shimmying melodies that make you want to dance. Continuing his run of good form, the aptly entitled "Good Vibes" does exactly what it says on the tin with upbeat melodies, jungle horns, pops and bleeps, plus rough, rolling drums keeping up the pace. Sit back and soak up the sunshine with this one! For those who want it without the vocal, you'll be pleased to hear that there's a dub mix aswell. Bo!

Bombaclaat! Phat ragga jungle vibes in this one with wicked drum edits. Gets the raggajungle lovers on the dancefloor for sure. This something you can play in almost any kind of set. Its a real DJ tool and one of those tracks you reach for in a set to bring the vibe back up. We will defiantly be dropping this in the near future.

Review:
Effortlessly combining dancehall vibes, the sound of dub culture, big, brash jungle riddims and spot on vocals from Mr Williamz, the jungle remix of Marcus Visionary's original call to arms is a big, bold statement of intent. Large and full of life, there's no doubt it'll be tearing up clubs up and down the country as we speak. Strip back those beats and you're left with his dub remix, bringing out more of the sizzling soundboy flavas that infectious dancehall wynd requires. Canadian DJ and producer Marcus Visionary pushes his junglist vibes wherever he goes. Make way for his sound.

Review:
Junglistic flavours reign supreme here in this summer time soaring riddim. Marcus Visionary teams up with vocalist Mr Williamz for "Standard" - a reggae-drenched piece with rough, rattling breaks, cooing instrumentals and plenty of soulful melody. Let yourself drift away with the music and relax. Chirpy, chattering lyrics add another element to the lilting rhythms and murmuring bassline below. In the Dubplate Jungle remix, Frisk enters the arena, for an early Shy FX-style venture, with sped up vocal, punchy drums and pattering percussion which will guarantee a rewind.

Review:
While it could be argued that drum and bass is a far more rich and varied musical artform in 2012 than it was 10 or 15 years ago, nothing slays a dancefloor quite like an old skool chunk of reggae/jungle fusion. This release from Necessary Bass boasts two cracking examples of this. Both "Possessed Remix" (a showdown between producer Marcus Visionary and soulful toaster Tarus Riley) and "Herbaltsic" (DJ Tuskan and vocalist Cali P) boast just the right amount of ruffneck old skool flava and hustling, soul-flecked vocal toasts. The results aren't particularly pretty, but they're extremely effective. "Herbalistic", for example, is classic ragga-jungle reborn. For those with long memories, that can never be a bad thing.

Review:
Marcus Visionary makes another appearance on Liondub International. "Blackboard" is old school jungle at its finest: super quick percussion, rolling beats and layers of sub bass that are only pierced by old school vocals. Goldstar & Zero G chip in with some looptastic bouncing bass on "Skin Out".
