Review: Mario Larrea's release combines the best of old school New York and modern house production. "Shake" is an uptempo rolling groove littered with enormous filtered breakdowns, but it sounds different to 99 per cent of modern releases thanks to its ferocious snare rolls and "Witchdoktor"-style siren riffs. The remixes also combine the contemporary and the classical: DJ Boris's take is powered by tough, NY-style dub beats, and Jean Pierre's version veers into a techno direction thanks to a surging bass and a rolling, loopy groove. But here too the legacy of US house is intact and when the piano keys kick in, it feels like the noughties never happened.

Review: This has been getting some serious rotation across the White Isle for a few weeks now, and if you have happened to be partying on the Amnesia terrace, or watching the Mambo sunset, you will have no doubt heard and loved it. Chris Lake continues to show his A&R expertise with this wicked progressive track from Mario Larrea, featuring an instantly catchy and inspiring vocal from Jenifer Levy. Lake takes the infectious vocal and killer chords one step further, with a super fresh tech house edge that will keep them going all night long.
