Review:
After making a storming start with Volume 1's "Devil Walking" and "Sax", Toolroom's Mark Knight reloads for the second instalment of his Bullets series - designed to provide DJs with the hottest tech-house joints for the coming months. "Alright" is a peak-hour classic in the making, thanks to some driving organ notes and a tastily jacking beat, while "Together" is a more maximal, piano-driven beast that works in some simply huge pitch builds over a rock solid house groove.

Review:
A huge release for his mega-successful house imprint Toolroom Records, Mark Knight teams up with former Skunk Anansie vocalist Skin for this whopping electro-house killer, which comes backed by some enormous remixes. Making smart use of the impassioned vocals, Knight gives them plenty of acapella space before building the huge digital beats back up around it. Noisia drops a typically destructive tech D&B rerub, while Tensnake lends a beautiful Balearic remake.

As well as their forthcoming takeover of the Brixton Academy in October, Toolroom are celebrating their fifth birthday in style with this collection of five mini-mixes from the night's headliners: Mark Knight, Fedde le Grand, Funkagenda, Michael Woods and D.Ramirez. Each around 20 minutes long, they're packed with huge house-shaped moments from the last five years - with each track available as individual full-length downloads.

Review:
The Grammy-nominated dance heavyweight behind Toolroom delivers the summer's key electro house anthems in another seamless mix. Things kick off with Mark's own "Alright" which marries tough beats to a 90s Nightcrawlers-style melody. Further along the way we get the hypnotic "Reaper" by My Digital Enemy, the progressive of "Fact" by Stefano Noferini, the haunting Balearic electro-soul of "Something Special" by Miguel Campbell. Things get more minimal and techy as we get deeper into the mix; a really cool trancey Einmusik remix of Nicole Moudaber & Smokin' Jo's "Home Sweet Home's, Nic Fanciulli's sultry remix of Radioslave & Danton Eeprom's "Grindhouse" before reaching the dizzying height's of the sublime "Captain My Captain" by Pan-Pot.

Review:
Here's a release that will surprise a lot of techno purists. Dutch trance head Van Doorn teams up with Toolroom boss Mark Knight to create a big room groove which features Underworld on vocals. If this sounds like a match made in hell then fear not, as the spiky percussion, insistent rhythm and dense drums that define the track sound more like a 90s techno track - replete with hoover stabs - than a day-glo anthem. In fact, it sounds like trance and electro house never happened, until the epic break down kicks in and Karl Hyde's evocative narrative takes centre stage.
