Monkey Safari At Juno Download

Review: German duo Monkey Safari get down to business with their first remix package of their Happy Body Music LP. Little known talent Rene Bourgeois tackles "Lenis Gugu" with a flurry of filters, pitched vocals and short piano stabs which take full effect during and after the tracks crescendo. Skeetz Scharz delivers "Room Service" a techy supply of beats, prog-like synth stabs and tambourine shakes, while Mollono Bass lives up to his name with a bassy but pleasant remix brimming with Spanish guitars. Aschmann & Noize continue pleasantries with melodious chimes, stepped beats and sighed vocals whilst Cascandy rework Ray Manzarek inspired keys and Jim Morrison sounding vocals into their mix of "Talking Mama".

Review: This split release features left of centre house music. First up is Monkey Safari with "Revolver Sundays", a lazy, hazy groove full of wah-wah guitar bursts and sexy mannequin vocals. Andhim's "German Summer" is just as enticing. Close your eyes and you can almost taste the cool beer and bratwurst as a rolling groove and sassy cowbells lead the way in a bass-heavy party groove. Finally, it's Scheibe's "Achterwaarts". In contrast to the other tracks, this has a more definite dance floor focus, but its flirty vocal sample and sexy, filtered builds ensure that it doesn't sound like all the DJ fodder out there.
